NCT ID: NCT04840121 Completed - Fertility Clinical Trials

Personalizing Window of Implantation During Frozen Embryo Transfer

AdhesioRT
Start date: March 24, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Embryo implantation is a crucial event in the establishment of a pregnancy. Although the clinical and culture conditions to obtain a "good quality" embryo are well advanced today, endometrial receptivity remains a major barrier in assisted reproductive techniques. Once a high-quality embryo is transferred, impaired uterine receptivity is believed to be one of the major reasons behind failure of the establishment of pregnancy.

SCRATCH-AD
Start date: October 12, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effect of ruxolitinib cream on itch in participants with Atopic Dermatitis.

NCT ID: NCT04838808 Completed - Clinical trials for Type II Myocardial Infarction

Rivaroxaban in Type 2 Myocardial Infarctions

R2MI
Start date: April 5, 2021
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This trial is the pilot phase of a randomized controlled trial to test the feasibility of recruiting patients with a type 2 myocardial infarction and randomizing them to low-dose rivaroxaban to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events.

NCT ID: NCT04838561 Completed - Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Trials

Assessing the Impact of Control-IQ Technology

Start date: March 15, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a single-centre, mixed-methods, prospective study in pediatric patients with T1D initiating Control-IQ technology on the Tandem t-slim X2 insulin pump. Primary Objective: To determine pediatric T1D patients' and their parents' perceptions of the impact of Control-IQ on their psychosocial functioning and quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT04838197 Completed - Caregiver Burnout Clinical Trials

Understanding Caregiver Burden for Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery Patients

Start date: March 3, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Caregiver burden is the response to the emotional, financial, physical, psychological, and social stressors associated with having to care for another family member. Previous studies have looked at the impact of caregiver burden in caregivers caring for loved ones dealing with long-term disease, such as dementia. The research has found that one in three caregivers suffer from depression, and experience high levels of stress and anxiety. However, these findings may not be relatable to the outpatient surgical setting. The purpose of this study is to find out how various factors such as the physical, emotional, social, and financial burden impact caregivers who are responsible for providing care to patients who are undergoing same-day surgical procedures that are traditionally performed as inpatient surgery. By understanding this potential burden on the caregiver, we hope that future healthcare improvements can be made to minimize this impact on the patients and their caregiver.

NCT ID: NCT04835376 Completed - Clinical trials for Cystic Fibrosis in Children

Percussion Palm Cup: Safety and Usability in Infants and Children With Cystic Fibrosis

PPC
Start date: May 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cystic Fibrosis is the most prevalent fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and it primarily characterized by a thickening of pulmonary secretions and impaired mucociliary clearance. Chest physiotherapy has been widely used as a standard treatment for sputum mobilization and clearance for individuals with CF. Percussion is one such technique of chest physiotherapy for loosening trapped music within the lungs and can be completed manually or facilitated with a percussion cup. Unfortunately, the exclusive Canadian supplier for the widely use percussor cup has stopped distributing the cups, leaving many hospitals and therapy clinics searching for alternatives to continue airway clearance treatment. The goal of this project is to compare alternative palm cup solutions to the standard, and recommend safe alternative(s) that caregivers can have easy access to.

NCT ID: NCT04833855 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria

Study to Evaluate Tezepelumab in Adults With Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria

INCEPTION
Start date: April 15, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of tezepelumab on improvement in the Urticaria Activity Score over 7 days (UAS7).

NCT ID: NCT04830566 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Low Back Pain

Effects of a Myofascial Technique on Biomechanical Properties of the Lumbar Myofascia of Chronic Low Back Pain Adults

Start date: March 19, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Non-specific low back pain is a worldwide health issue that remains poorly understood. Some authors have shown that the thoracolumbar fascia of low back pain adults presents changes in biomechanical properties. As it is richly endowed with pain receptors, the thoracolumbar fascia could therefore be a key contributor to this chronic pain condition. Myofascial techniques (MFTs) are commonly used in manual therapy by practitioners of various backgrounds to address fascia biomechanical properties, but there is a paucity of objective evidence on their effects on tissue state. Musculoskeletal ultrasonography, sonoelastography and myometry are emerging imaging techniques that can quantify the biomechanical properties of fascia and underlying muscle. These innovative techniques could in turn contribute to a better understanding of MFTs effects on fascial properties. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the immediate effect of a standardized MFT on the elastography features of the lumbar paraspinal muscle and fascia (i.e. myofascial unit). The secondary objectives are to evaluate the immediate effects of a MFT on: i) ultrasonography features of the myofascial unit; ii) myometry features of the myofascial unit; ii) pain intensity.
