There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is compare three interventions (short-term psychodynamic psychotherapeutic group and relapse prevention group therapy vs. treatment as usual, namely, psychiatric follow up including prescription of medication vs. both interventions combined) to individuals presenting compulsive sexual behavior.
A Phase I study to assess the systemic exposure, effiacy, and safety of 450 mg ceritinib taken with a low-fat meal and 600 mg ceritinib taken with a low-fat meal as compared with that of 750 mg ceritinib taken in the fasted state in adult patients with ALK rearranged (ALK-positive) metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
This is a randomised, double-blind, parallel-group, multi-centre study evaluating 15 milligram (mg) twice daily/ Bi-daily (BID) of losmapimod versus placebo, in addition to standard of care (SoC). The primary objective of this study is to explore the therapeutic potential of losmapimod as a treatment to reduce the rate of exacerbations in the subset of participants with moderate-to-severe COPD who are at high risk of exacerbation, having experienced two or more moderate/severe exacerbations in the preceding 12 months, and who have <=2% of blood eosinophils at screening. As secondary objectives safety, effects on lung function, quality of life, pharmacokinetic (PK), biomarkers of both disease and inflammation shall be evaluated. The duration of the treatment period is variable but will be at least 26 weeks and up to a maximum of 52 weeks, with the end of study date being established once the final participant has been randomized. The purpose of the variable dosing regimen is to enable participants to remain in the study for a longer duration, as it is anticipated that this will increase the likelihood of observing exacerbation events without increasing the overall study duration. It will also enable safety data on dosing periods beyond 6 months to be generated. Approximately 200 participants in a 1:1 ratio between losmapimod and placebo will be randomized to the study. Sample size re-estimation will be performed during the course of the study to potentially increase the sample size up to a maximum of 600 participants.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of the use of breathing exercises with inspiratory loading on respiratory muscle strength and endurance, lung volumes and capacities and thoracoabdominal mobility in patients after bariatric surgery. It is believed that the use of inspiratory load may mitigate the negative effects of surgical trauma on respiratory muscle dysfunction, preserving respiratory muscle strength, lung volumes and diaphragm mobility, thus reducing the risk of pulmonary complications in the postoperative period.
Neuromuscular electrical stimulation in pectoral muscles (fibres of the pectoralis major muscle bilaterally) and rectus abdominis muscles (bilaterally) preserves / decreases the loss of muscle mass.
Administration of Ticagrelor in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction treated with pharmacological thrombolysis
The efficacy and safety, as well as subject satisfaction will be evaluated after single treatment with Azzalure/Dysport alone or Restylane/Emervel filler alone followed by repeated combined treatment with Azzalure/Dysport, Restylane/Emervel filler and Restylane Skinbooster. Subjects will be followed for up to 18 months after initial treatment.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of deep brain stimulation in obese patients with Prader Willi syndrome refractory to conventional treatment.
Patients admitted in the Emergency Service that have pressure ulcers will be selected by eligibility criteria and randomized into three groups according to the adopted therapy: wound dressing (CG); wound dressing + high-frequency generator group (GAF); and wound dressing + low-level laser therapy group (GLBP).
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy observed with canakinumab dose reduction in a subgroup of patients in the extension study CACZ885G2301E1.
