There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Introduction: Functional constipation is a symptom-based gastrointestinal disorder without an organic origin (eg, bowel obstruction). It has a prevalence of 14% in adults. Objective: The objective of trial is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two different probiotic blends in adults subjects with functional constipation. Methods: A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study will be conducted for up to two years to evaluate the efficacy of two different probiotic mixtures: (Mixture 1) Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Lactobacillus rhamnosus (3 billion CFU); (Mixture 2) Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus paracasei, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus defensis, Bifidobacterium animallis (8 billion CFU).
This is a randomized, multicenter, open-label, two-arm, Phase II study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of giredestrant versus anastrozole (in the window-of-opportunity phase) and giredestrant plus palbociclib compared with anastrozole plus palbociclib (in the neoadjuvant phase) in postmenopausal women with untreated, estrogen receptor (ER)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2)-negative, early breast cancer. The study consists of a screening period of up to 28 days, a window-of-opportunity phase for 14 days, followed by a neoadjuvant treatment phase for 16 weeks (four 28-day cycles), surgery, and an end of study visit (28 days after the final dose of study treatment).
The objectives of this study are to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Zimura (avacincaptad pegol) intravitreal administration in patients with geographic atrophy secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
Positive fluid status has been consistently associated with worse prognosis in critically ill adult patients. However, observational studies showed poor agreement between fluid balance and body weight changes. The objective of the study is to compare the measurements of FB and BW over time and to assess correlation with ICU mortality.
This is a multicenter long-term extension study designed to evaluate the long-term safety and tolerability of faricimab administered by intravitreal (IVT) injection at a personalized treatment interval (PTI) to participants who enrolled in and completed one of the two Phase III studies, GR40349 (NCT03622580) or GR40398 (NCT03622593), also referred to as the parent studies.
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the acute response to infection with and recovery from the virus called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Some people know this virus by the name "coronavirus." It can cause the disease called COVID-19. The information gained from the study can be used to help develop better tests for SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 disease and may help in developing future vaccines, other prevention strategies, and treatments.
Observational, prospective, multicentre, international, non-profit, investigator-driven, outcome and diagnostic accuracy study performed in Emergency Departments. The study will evaluate the performance of diagnostic algorithms integrating pre-test probability assessment with a risk score, focus cardiac ultrasound and D-dimer, to rule-in/out acute aortic syndromes. For each patient, the outcome will be established after review of hospital and 30-day follow-up data. In participating centers, an acute aortic syndrome will be considered to be ruled out without advanced imaging by a D-dimer level lower than 500 ng per milliliter, in patients with a low clinical pre-test probability assessed using the aortic dissection detection (ADD) risk score. Using outcome data, the study will primarily assess the accuracy and efficiency of this diagnostic rule-out protocol (prospective management study). The study will also evaluate the performance of alternative rule out strategies based on a different clinical score and on a D-dimer cutoff adjusted on patient's age.
Several recent studies point to the possibility of the new coronavirus (SARS-Cov2), which currently causes pandemic COVID-19, to infiltrate the central nervous system (CNS) and cause primary damage to neural tissues, increasing the morbidity and mortality of these patients. A pathophysiological hypothesis for insulting the CNS would be the impairment of cerebral compliance (CC), because elevation of intracranial pressure (ICP), but due to the invasive nature of the methods available for ICP evaluation, this hypothesis has so far not been verified. Recently, a noninvasive technique was developed to evaluate CC (B4C sensor), making it possible to analyse CC in patients outside the neurosurgical environment. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to assess the presence of CC impairment in patients with COVID-19, and observe potential influences of this syndrome on cerebral hemodynamics.
The purpose of the study is to learn whether the study drug (capmatinib) helps to control lung cancer better compared to a single agent chemotherapy (docetaxel) and whether it is safe when given to patients suffering from a particular type of lung cancer. This type of cancer is called non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with certain specific genetic alterations (called mutations) of a gene called MET, within a specific part of the gene called exon 14.
The primary objectives are: Pooled Phase 3 (Cohort 1) and Phase 2 (Cohort 1A) - To evaluate the virologic efficacy of REGN10933+REGN10987 compared to placebo in reducing viral load of SARS-CoV-2 - To evaluate the clinical efficacy of REGN10933+REGN10987 compared to placebo, as measured by death or mechanical ventilation Phase 1/2 (Cohort 1) - To exclude futility of REGN10933+REGN10987 compared to placebo, as measured by death or mechanical ventilation - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of REGN10933+REGN10987 compared to placebo
