The aim of this study is to valuate the effects of LED photobiomodulation on analgesia during labor.ight-emitting diode (LED) photobiomodulation is an effective and noninvasive alternative to pharmacological methods.n total, 60 women in labor admitted to a public maternity hospital will be selected for a randomized controlled trial. The participants will be randomized into two groups: intervention group [analgesia with LED therapy (n = 30)] and control group [analgesia with bath therapy (n = 30)].

PEC Block II in Mammoplasty Surgeries

Breast augmentation surgery is the top cosmetic surgery in USA with more then 300.000 cases performed annually. Pain is a common complications of the procedure accompanied of dyspnea and nausea due to the surgical manipulation. Several anesthetic techniques were developed with the objective of providing optimal surgical conditions together with enhanced recovery and post-op pain management. Pectoralis major block was first described in 2011 by Blanco in female patients undergoing oncologic procedures in the anterior thoracic wall. The investigators hypothesized if the Pectoralis Major block combined with general anesthesia standard techniques could be beneficial in improving pain scores and opioid consumption during post operative period of patients undergoing breast augmentation surgery.

Effectiveness of ICCMS in Reducing the Incidence of Dental Caries in Children

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of using the ICCMS (International Caries Classification And Management System)in reducing caries lesions incidence compared to a control group that use different criteria as a not systematic and standardized prevention strategy. The study will be performed among children attending to the social project of Social Service of Commerce (SESC), Sao Paulo. The sample will be composed of 460 children aging between 7 to 12 years old registered in CURUMIM Program from eight dental centers of SESC. A randomized controlled study with parallel group will be conducted. The centers will be randomized between the 2 strategies, defining 2 groups with 4 centers each. The experimental group that will follow the criteria defined by the ICCMS will evaluate clinical and behavioral variables, it will define: evaluation of the caries risk of the patient, evaluation of the intraoral risk, diagnosis of the caries lesion and its respective activity, plan decision individualized treatment for the patient and indication of recall interval according to the risk of caries. In the control group, children need will be solved according to rthe routinely dental practices in the center, but the determination of the child's general and intraoral risk of developing new caries lesions will not be performed nor the scheduling of specific recall intervals according to the risk.

Long-term Safety and Efficacy Extension Study for Participants With Advanced Tumors Who Are Currently on Treatment or in Follow-up in a Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) Study (MK-3475-587/KEYNOTE-587)

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) in participants from previous Merck pembrolizumab-based parent studies who transition into this extension study. This study will consist of three phases: 1) First Course Phase, 2) Survival Follow-up Phase or 3) Second Course Phase. Each participant will transition to this extension study in one of the following three phases, depending on the study phase they were in at the completion of the parent study. Participants who were in the First Course Phase of study treatment with pembrolizumab or lenvatinib in their parent study will enter the First Course Phase of this study and complete up to 35 doses or more every 3 weeks (Q3W) or 17 doses or more every 6 weeks (Q6W) of study treatment with pembrolizumab or a pembrolizumab-based combination or lenvatinib according to arm assignment. Participants who were in the Follow-up Phase in the parent study (post-treatment or Survival Follow-up Phase) will enter the Survival Follow-up Phase of this study. Participants who were in the Second Course Phase in their parent study will enter Second Course Phase of this study and complete up to 17 doses Q3W or 8 doses Q6W of study treatment with pembrolizumab or a pembrolizumab-based combination according to arm assignment. Any participant originating from a parent trial where crossover to pembrolizumab was permitted upon disease progression may be eligible for 35 doses as Q3W or 17 doses Q6W of pembrolizumab (approximately 2 years), if they progress while on the control arm and pembrolizumab is approved for the indication in the country where the potential eligible crossover participant is being evaluated.

Specific patterns of PNF have been used in neurological and rheumatologic rehabilitation to improve trunk control and postural stability. However, there are no studies that analyze the effect of pelvic PNF patterns on pelvic floor muscles. We hypothesize that pelvic patterns of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation activate the pelvic floor muscles in healthy individuals through the abdomino-pelvic synergism. Thus, the objective of the study is to analyze the effects of pelvic patterns PNF on the recruitment of pelvic floor muscles in healthy individuals.

Short vs Standard Implants in Maxilla

The prosthetic treatment with dental implants is challenging in posterior maxilla, where there is a sinus pneumatization. For the rehabilitation of patients with intermediate bone level, short implants have been used as alternative. It is also needed to look for the prosthetic context of rehabilitation with implants, like the use of different materials as abutments. The aim of this study is to compare the survival of two sizes of implants (short vs standard) placed in upper premolars region with need of bone graft, with a minimum of three years of follow-up, and assess the behavior of different abutments (titanium vs zirconia) in prosthesis in this context. This will be a randomized clinical trial with two groups: 1) standard implants and sinus lift; and 2) short implants without sinus lift. The patients who fulfill the inclusion criteria and accept to participate of this study, will be included in the randomization process. At the implant installation, a brown envelope, with the word SHORT or STANDARD, will be open, in order to determine the group. Abutment type will be also randomized. Four months after the installation, torque will be confirmed and the abutment will be installed. Implant failure and prosthesis failure in function of the abutment will be the outcomes. Data analysis will be conducted following a previously established spreadsheet using the Kaplan-Meier method and log rank test for success and survival, followed by Cox regression, if possible and according to the number of failures.

Endocrown Restorations Longevity Compared With Post Retained Restorations

Caries disease is still the leading cause of severe tooth decay. Since this can lead to tooth loss, it is important that appropriate treatment is advised to help prevent damage and maintain tooth health. Faced with major coronary destruction, several times it becomes necessary to perform the endodontic treatment, aiming to maintain the element in the buccal cavity for longer. It is known that an excellent restorative treatment with poor endodontic treatment and the inverse has a direct impact on the (in) success of the treatment. In this context, the proper cleaning of the root canals is highlighted, aiming the removal of bacteria and toxins. Acceptable restorations are those that provide adequate reestablishment of anatomy, function, proximal contacts, and occlusal stability. Traditionally, indirect restorations would be indicated in cases of extensive coronary destruction, because it was believed that they would present greater resistance and longevity when compared to direct restorations. However, contemporary dentistry admits that, thanks to adhesive and conservative principles, this difference between direct and indirect procedures in terms of longevity is not significant. The classic restorative procedure in cases of endodontically treated teeth with great loss of coronary structure involves the use of intraradicular retainers, followed by the creation of core and restoration through total crowns. Removal of healthy tissue for the use of posts can weaken the remaining dental structure and increase the risk of root perforations. In this sense, endocrown restorations show superiority when compared to those made with intraradicular retainers. Although the indications are favorable for the use of endocrown restorations, the clinical evidence available on the subject is still scarce. In this double-blind randomized clinical trial, patients who need and meet the inclusion criteria will will be allocated to one of the three restorative groups available, being endocrown restoration in semi-direct composite resin, direct restoration in composite resin retained on the post and ceramic crown retained in the post. Patients will be monitored annually after completion of restorative treatment outcome. In addition to treatment longevity, other secondary outcomes will be evaluated, such as patient satisfaction, impact on quality of life and cost-effectiveness of the proposed treatments.
