There are about 13446 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Belgium. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
STOP-ADHF Study: An evaluation of the safety and performance of the Cardionomic Cardiac Pulmonary Nerve Stimulation (CPNS) system in patients with acute decompensated heart failure.
The primary objective of this study is to assess the presence of a correlation between the Lung ultrasound score (LUSS) and PaO2/FiO2 in patient presenting with interstitial syndrome (IS) in the ED. The primary end point considers the null hypothesis to be a negative linear distribution for LUSS and PaO2/FiO2 values. Secondary objectives and secondary end points One of the secondary objectives is to assess the correlation between the LUSS and PaCO2 in patient presenting with IS in the ED. The end point of this secondary outcome considers the null hypothesis to be a positive linear distribution for the LUSS and PaCO2 values. Another secondary objective is to determine the influence of the presence of unilateral or bilateral pleural effusion on the correlation between LUSS and PaO2/FiO2. The end point of this secondary outcome considers the null hypothesis to be a negative linear distribution for LUSS and PaO2/FiO in those three sub-groups: absence of pleural effusion group, unilateral pleural effusion group and bilateral pleural effusion group.
Grand Hôpital de Charleroi (GHdC) had to organize the vaccination of its staff in December 2021 against SARS-CoV-2.On the sidelines of this vaccination campaign, the management committee agreed to document the knowledge of the SARS-CoV-2 serology of all the staff of the establishment before this vaccination campaign, as well as a few weeks after vaccination. In November 2021, the Belgian government decided to offer a third dose of vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 virus. The GHdC managment committee has agreed to continue monitoring SARS-CoV-2 serology for members who receive their third dose of vaccine.

This is a multi-center screening study with the primary objective to determine the prevalence of KIT D816V mutation in peripheral blood in patients with evidence of systemic mast cell activation (MCA).
This is an interventional phase IV trial enrolling HIV-infected patients treated by dolutegravir or bictegravir-based combined antiretroviral therapy, and patients with a planned shift to a dolutegravir or bictegravir-based combined antiretroviral therapy, that aims at understanding the individual response to dolutegravir and bictegravir, in terms of efficacy and toxicity.
Background: Lymphopenia is reported to be associated with the severity of disease progression in COVID-19. Low lymphocyte count is also associated with increasing age. No study has yet investigated the effects of lymphopenia in this disease on the outcome in elderly people. Objectives: To assess the outcome of lymphopenia in elderly patients having COVID-19 and its usefulness as prognostic factor in elderly people. Methods: Retrospective cohort study. Clinical data (medical history, comorbidities, treatments, geriatric syndromes) and biological parameters will be collected from 100 hospitalized geriatric COVID-19 patients (> 70 yrs.) (Group 1) and 100 hospitalized geriatric patients (> 70 yrs.) presenting with acute infection other than COVID-19 (Group 2) and will be compared according to the presence/absence of lymphopenia. A third Group (3) will be studied to assess the influence of comorbidities on lymphopenia consisting of healthy aged elderly (> 70 yrs.).
To investigate the presence of SARS-nCoV-2 in the tear film of symptomatic and pauci-symptomatic SARS-nCoV-2 positive patients.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage and most of the world is facing a second wave with continuous lockdown and strict measures aiming to control it. While vaccination is on its way, and has even started in several countries, trust and acceptance remain a challenge for an effective vaccination strategy, especially with the increasing vaccination hesitance in recent years . It is important to understand the main concerns towards the COVID-19 vaccine so they can be addressed in a constructive way - more specifically among health care professionals who are at the frontline of the pandemic. The aim of this study is to evaluate whether surgeons are ready for the COVID-19 vaccine and to understand their main concerns towards the vaccine. In an objective to evaluate the attitude of doctors towards the COVID vaccine and the effect of prolonged lockdown on their psychological burden, the investigators created an anonymous survey of 21 questions.
