There are about 13446 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Belgium. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to determine the clinical benefit and characterize the safety profile of tabelecleucel for the treatment of Epstein-Barr virus-associated post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (EBV+ PTLD) in the setting of (1) solid organ transplant (SOT) after failure of rituximab and rituximab plus chemotherapy or (2) allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) after failure of rituximab.
Prospective validation study of the NightOwl, a Type IV home sleep apnea test (HSAT), compared to a traditional Type I and a Type IV sleep monitor.
Evaluation of a new method to prevent gastric insufflation
This registry supports international data collection and research on PPFx treatments after hip and knee arthroplasty. A registry such as this ultimately aims to provide far-reaching benefits to society including reduced morbidity and mortality, improved patient safety, improved quality of care and medical decision-making, reduced medical spending, and advances in orthopaedic science.
The main aim is to study correlations between Peak inspiratory flow measured during a spirometry (PIFspiro) and Peak inspiratory flow measured over a pre-set resistance (PIFresist) in COPD patients and severe asthma patients. PIFresist will be measured using 5 different resistances, representing all DPI's relevant for the treatment of obstructive lung diseases. If this shows a distinct relationship between PIFspiro and PIFresist, PIFspiro cut-off points will be sought in an attempt to predict which patients are likely to be able to produce optimal flows for DPI use. If successful, this will make the actual measurement of PIFresist redundant in clinical practice. Also the relationship between PIFresist and device internal resistance in addition to PIFspiro (which corresponds to a very low resistance) will be examined.
Therapeutic algorithms for lung cancer are mainly based on randomised controlled trials which excluded patients with severe co-morbidities. Smoking, the main risk factor for lung cancer, is associated with cardiovascular events that may impact on the therapeutic decision. The aim of this registry is to determine if and how cardiovascular co-morbidities impact on the physicians' decision for anticancer treatment in lung cancer patients by comparing it to the European Lung Cancer Working Party (ELCWP) guidelines
The registry is primarily designed to assess outcome, efficacy and residual safety aspects of CRT based on long-term data from an unselected, real-life clinical set-up. Moreover, the observation of the patient status should help to find possible predictors for HF events and to identify areas of improvement for CRT and for CRT device settings.
This study investigates the efficacy and the safety of Lanthanum Carbonate for the reduction of urinary oxalate excretion in patients with secondary hyperoxaluria and nephrolithiasis.
Bariatric surgery is recognized as a therapeutic modality of type 2 diabetes. The mechanisms of this remission of diabetes remain poorly understood. The aim of our research is to characterize the changes in muscle secretome induced by bariatric surgery and to determine their role in improving the insulin sensitivity of skeletal muscle and insulin secretion by the B cell responsible for the remission of diabetes.
This study investigates the uptake of the radiopharmaceutical 68-GaNOTA-Anti-HER2 VHH1 in brain metastasis using PET/CT imaging. Patients with HER2-positive and HER2-negative cancer will be included and the uptake in their lesions will be compared. Optional 68-GaNOTA-Anti-HER2 VHH1 scans may be performed during or after treatment, at time points 12±6 weeks and 24±9 weeks after the first scan.
