There are about 13446 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Belgium. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a study in adults with Crohn's Disease who also have fistulas near the anus. The study has 2 parts. The first part is to find out more about what causes the fistulas. In this part of the study, tissue samples are taken from patients. The second part of the study tests whether a medicine called spesolimab (BI 655130) helps patients with Crohn's Disease. Participants get study medication for 24 weeks. The participants are put into 2 groups. It is decided by chance who gets into which group. One group gets an intravenous drip that contains spesolimab every 4 weeks. The other group gets a placebo drip every 4 weeks. The placebo drip looks like the spesolimab drip, but contains no medicine. The doctors regularly examine fistulas of the participants. The results of the fistula examinations are compared between the groups. The doctors also check the general health of the patients.
In this study the investigators will study two dosages of heparin before extracorporeal circulation in open chest cardiac surgery.
The purpose of the Micra Atrial TRacking Using A Ventricular AccELerometer 2 (MARVEL 2) study is to demonstrate safe and effective operation of the MARVEL 2 features for providing AV synchronous pacing in patients with normal sinus node function and AV block
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of different doses of AG019 administered alone or in combination with teplizumab in participants with recent-onset type 1 diabetes (T1D).
This observational study will quantify caloric-protein intake in 75 patients undergoing colorectal surgery within an enhanced recovery program at CHU Liège. A dietary survey will be performed preoperatively and repeated postoperatively via telephone calls on Day + 3, Day + 7; Day + 15, and Day + 30, after leaving the hospital. The deficits observed will be correlated with the medical and surgical characteristics of the patients
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate pharmacokinetics (PK) of ravulizumab administered subcutaneously via an on-body delivery system (OBDS) compared with intravenously administered ravulizumab in adult participants with PNH who are clinically stable on eculizumab for at least 3 months prior to study entry.
This is a randomized, double-blind multi-center, phase III study comparing the efficacy and safety of sintilimab or placebo in combination with chemotherapy as first-line treatment in subjects with unresectable, locally advanced recurrent or metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. After the interim analysis conducted by the iDMC, an open-label assignment of experimental arm therapy will continue in regions outside of China, in order to further evaluate the efficacy and safety of sintilimab in combination with chemotherapy in subjects representing the western population with advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
This clinical study will test the effects of a drug called apremilast in oligoarticular psoriatic arthritis with less than 5 years of disease duration. In previous studies, apremilast has been shown to be safe and efficacious in reducing signs and symptoms of psoriatic arthritis, as well as improving physical function. This study will compare the effects of apremilast to placebo on psoriatic arthritis subjects in which the number of affected joints is limited (greater than 1 but less or equal to 4). About 285 patients worldwide will take part in this study.
Healthy Adult Volunteer Taste Study of Oral Formulations of Bosutinib for Pediatric Use. This will be a single-blind, randomized, multiple-period (dosing over 4 days) study in healthy male and/or female participants. Approximately 8 participants will assess the sensory attributes of different powder for oral suspension (POS) formulations.
Citalopram is sometimes used in the treatment for gastro-esophageal reflux disease, however, there are no empirical data to support this. The investigators would like to know if citalopram has an effect on the lower esophageal sphincter pressure, transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations and reflux episodes. The investigators will investigate this by performing high resolution impedance manometry in healthy volunteers before and after a solid meal. This will be compared to placebo, in a cross-over, randomized, double-blind condition.
