Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to assess the safety and efficacy of FX006 for the treatment of pain in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.

NCT ID: NCT02356536 Completed - Clinical trials for Gait Disorders, Neurologic

The Effect of a Wearable Cueing Device on Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease

CuePed
Start date: October 2013
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The CuePeD trial is an intervention trial measuring the effectiveness of a novel treatment for Freezing of Gait (FOG) in Parkinson's disease (PD). The primary intervention is the use of a wearable cueing device (WCD), which detects and responds to FOG and extinguishes on the resumption of normal walking. It is designed for use in PD patients with FOG, in their home environment where FOG is most severe. Kinematic data will be logged by a memory card in the belt worn device recording FOG, and falls. The device will be used on 3 different settings in a gait laboratory environment, and then for 2 weeks in the patient's own home using the same 3 settings. A battery of psychometric instruments will be administered before and after the trial

NCT ID: NCT02354001 Completed - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators for Women of Child-bearing Age With Schizophrenia

Start date: April 2011
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the project is to investigate the use of Raloxifene (a new form of estrogen) in the treatment of young women with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Raloxifene is a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM),which means that it can affect the central nervous system (CNS) effects of estrogen (eg. improving emotional symptoms, memory, information processing and concentration), without adversely affecting reproductive tissue/organs such as breast, uterus and ovaries. The investigators are conducting a double-blind, placebo controlled, three month study comparing the psychotic symptom response of women with schizophrenia in both groups. One group will receive standard antipsychotic medication plus 120mg Raloxifene, while the second group will receive standard antipsychotic medication plus oral placebo.

NCT ID: NCT02353897 Completed - Glabellar Lines Clinical Trials

Patient and Physician's Satisfaction After a Long Term Treatment of Glabellar Lines With Dysport®

APPEAL
Start date: October 2014
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to look at patient and physician satisfaction of long term Glabellar lines (GL) treatment with Dysport in a real life setting. It will also allow better understanding of what patients expect from the treatment, and the injection practices used by doctors.

NCT ID: NCT02353182 Completed - Clinical trials for Surgical Procedures, Operative

The T REX Pilot Study: a Study to Investigate the Use of an Alternative Anaesthetic in Infants.

Start date: May 2015
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Animal studies suggest general anaesthetics harm the developing brain. It is unclear if these findings are relevant to humans but the issue has become a major concern. Recent data have found that monkeys exposed to anaesthesia as infants grow up to have slower learning than those not exposed. The aim of the TREX pilot study is to determine the feasibility of an alternative anaesthetic regimen for lower abdominal/lower extremity surgery in infants 1-12 months of age.

NCT ID: NCT02352948 Completed - Clinical trials for Non - Small Cell Lung Cancer NSCLC

A Global Study to Assess the Effects of MEDI4736 (Durvalumab), Given as Monotherapy or in Combination With Tremelimumab Determined by PD-L1 Expression Versus Standard of Care in Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non Small Cell Lung Cancer

ARCTIC
Start date: January 13, 2015
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is a Phase III, randomised, open label, multi-centre study assessing the efficacy and safety of MEDI4736 (durvalumab) versus Standard of Care in NSCLC patients with PD-L1 positive tumours and the combination of MEDI4736 (durvalumab) plus tremelimumab (MEDI4736+treme) versus Standard of Care in NSCLC patients with PD-L1-negative tumours in the treatment of male and female patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC (Stage IIIB-IV), who have received at least 2 prior systemic treatment regimens including 1 platinum-based chemotherapy regimen for NSCLC. Patients with known EGFR (Epidermal growth factor receptor) tyrosine kinase (TK) activating mutations and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements are not eligible for the study (prospective testing is not planned within this study). The Standard of Care options are: an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (erlotinib [TARCEVA®]), gemcitabine or vinorelbine (NAVELBINE®)

NCT ID: NCT02349438 Completed - Visual Acuity Clinical Trials

Assessment of Contact Lens Wettability Using Wavefront Aberrometry

Start date: December 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will test the feasibility that differences in contact lens wettability can be measured with a wavefront sensor.
