Study of MK-4482 for Prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Adults (MK-4482-013)

The purpose of the study is to assess if the study medication (molnupiravir, MK-4482) will prevent symptomatic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in adults who live with someone with confirmed COVID-19 infection. This is a phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study; half of the study participants will receive molnupiravir twice daily by mouth and the other half will receive a placebo. The primary objectives of the study are to determine if molnupiravir prevents symptomatic COVID-19 disease and to evaluate its safety and tolerability. All participants who develop COVID-19 during the study are still eligible for any COVID-19 treatment recommended by their doctor.

Research Study to Look at How Well Semaglutide Works in People Living With Heart Failure, Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes

This study will look at how participants' daily life is affected by their heart failure. The study will also look at the change in participants' body weight. This study will compare the effect of semaglutide (a new medicine) compared to "dummy" medicine on body weight and heart failure symptoms. Participants will either get semaglutide or "dummy" medicine, which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Participants will need to take 1 injection once a week. The study medicine is injected with a thin needle in a skin fold in the stomach area, thigh or upper arm. During the study participants will have talks with the study staff about healthy lifestyle and physical activity. The study will last for about 59 weeks, that is a little more than 1 year. Participants will have 12 clinic visits with the study doctor. - At 6 of the visits participants will have blood samples taken. - At 5 of the visits participants will be asked to fill in a questionnaire - At 4 of the visits participants will have to do a 6-minute walking test - At 3 of the visits participants will have a test to check the heart. - participants will have their eyes checked before or at the start of the study and at the end of the study Women cannot take part if pregnant, breast-feeding or plan to become pregnant during the study period.

General surgery emergency conditions and trauma cases still require immediate evaluation and timely resolution. The primary objective of this study was to analyze the variations in the consults, surgical outcomes and severity of disease in admissions at our department of general surgery and to study the consequences of the lockdown effect in our community. The aims of the study are to assess the safety profile of brigatinib and the clinical response rates in adults with Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK)-Positive Metastatic Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). Treatment with brigatinib and follow-up will be according to routine clinical practice. Study doctors will review the participants' medical records at the start of the study, then at 12 and 24 weeks after treatment starts.
