Oral Glutamine in the Prevention of Oxaliplatin-induced Neurotoxicity

Primary Objective: To assess the benefit of glutamine when added to calcium-magnesium on the occurrence of grade 2, 3 and 4 peripheral sensory neuropathy (PSN) related to oxaliplatin with the National Cancer Institute-Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Event (NCI-CTCAE) scale taking into account the time from start of oxaliplatin at which the first event occurred. Secondary Objective: To determine cumulative dose of oxaliplatin and time when the first occurrence of grade 2, 3 or 4 PSN. To determine the incidence of dose-reductions, dose-delays and discontinuations of oxaliplatin due to PSN grade 3 or 4. To assess effects of glutamine when added to calcium-magnesium on patients-reported outcomes using the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy/Gynecologic Oncology Group-Neurotoxicity 12 items questionnaire (FACT/GOG NTX-12) subscale. To evaluate the incidence of diarrhea. To determine Progression Free Survival (PFS) in metastatic patients.

Rehabilitation of Cancer Survivors in Denmark: The Effect of a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Course

This randomized study evaluates the effect of a multi-focused, psychosocial 6-day residential rehabilitation course at a Danish rehabilitation centre for cancer survivors. The investigators hypothesize that individuals in the intervention group will experience better psychosocial well-being and more adaptive health behaviour changes as compared to individuals in the control group.

Chemotherapy With or Without Surgery in Treating Patients With Metastatic Colorectal Cancer That Cannot Be Removed by Surgery

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. It is not yet known whether chemotherapy is more effective when given alone or together with surgery in treating patients with colorectal cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II/III trial is studying how well chemotherapy works and compares it with surgery followed by chemotherapy in treating patients with metastatic colorectal cancer that can not be removed by surgery.

The study will be run in two parts: Part 1, or Safety Run-in Part: Will determine the maximum tolerated dose and the recommended Phase II dose (RP2D) of MSC1936369B combined with FOLFIRI as second-line treatment in subjects with metastatic K Ras mutated colorectal cancer. Part 2 or Phase II Randomised Part: Will assess the anti-tumor activity of MSC1936369B combined with FOLFIRI compared to FOLFIRI with placebo as second-line treatment in metastatic K Ras mutated colorectal cancer subjects.

A Korean Post-marketing Surveillance Study on Erbitux® in Patients With Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Refractory to Irinotecan-containing Treatment

After consultation with the Korean Health Authorities, the two Post-Authorization Safety Studies EMR 62202-509 (NCT01082315) and EMR 62241-508 (NCT01075828) were combined within one study protocol EMR 062202-551. This Post-Marketing Surveillance Study (PMS) EMR 062202-551 is requested by the Korean Health Authorities to continue monitoring of Erbitux and provide further information about safety and toxicity in clinical practice in at least 900 patients during 6 years. All data points from the EMR 62202-509 (NCT01082315) and EMR 62241-508 (NCT01075828) remain unchanged in protocol EMR 062202-551. Therefore, the Sponsor has decided not to separately disclose the EMR 062202-551 study titled "A Korean Post-Marketing Surveillance Study On Erbitux® (Cetuximab) in Patients With Locally Advanced or Recurrent and/or Metastatic Squamous Cell Cancer of the Head and Neck (originally EMR 62241-508) and in Patients With EGFR-expressing, KRAS wild-type Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (originally EMR 62202-509)" on clinicaltrials.gov.
