The purpose of this study is to compare signal patterns generated from the impact on the scalp from these brain oscillation patterns from individuals with Alzheimer's disease, Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration, Mild Cognitive Impairment and Age-Matched Normal Controls.

Physical Activity and Neuropsychological Outcomes in a Cancer Population

Many cancer survivors experience treatment-related impairments in mental abilities such as memory, attention, and concentration (known as cognition). Research indicates that physical activity can improve cognition in healthy adults; however, little is known about whether physical activity can improve cognition among cancer survivors. This study will test whether a physical activity intervention results in improvements in cognition among breast cancer survivors, which may lead to interventions to improve cognition.

The purpose of this research study is to examine the effects of high and low intensity exercise for those with mild memory loss and pre-diabetes. The investigators will also examine the effects of this exercise on certain proteins and hormones in body fluids, and on brain structure and function using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Recent studies indicate that exercise improves memory and thinking abilities for adults with mild memory loss OR pre-diabetes. This study examines the effects of exercise on people with mild memory loss AND pre-diabetes.

Trajectory of Recovery in the Elderly

The purpose of this study is to understand how elderly individuals regain their cognitive skills following general anesthesia. The investigators will compare an age stratified group of volunteers who will be evaluated with a series of cognitive tests and a functional MRI. The participants will then be administered general anesthesia for two hours. The investigators will then assess the participants using state of the art tools to determine when participants return to their cognitive baseline.
