NCT ID: NCT03704935 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Respiratory Disease

Long Term Effects and of a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Maintenance Program

LTAir+R
Start date: October 10, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Chronic respiratory diseases are characterized by a progressive and long term deline. Pulmonary rehabilitation (exercise training and therapeutic education) can improve several disease outcomes like dyspnea, exercise tolerance and health-related quality of life. After an inpatient PR program, maintenance program can stabilize the disease outcomes. However, maintenance program are heterogeneous and long term benefits (>36 month) have been observed in only one study, which is not feasible in France. A realistic maintenance program as proposed by the French Air+R network (http://airplusr.com/wordpress/) has only demonstrated benefits after 12 month. In addition, the time course of patients may be heterogeneous, with differens clusters that could be influenced by the clinical, functional and systemic determinants. In particular, the cellular muscle microenvironment could be deleterious for the muscle function in patients, caused by a "spill-over" of inflammatory pulmonary molecules in the systemic milieu.

NCT ID: NCT03420209 Completed - Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials

The Effect of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Technique for Children With Chronic Pulmonary Diseases.

Start date: December 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis are the most seen problems in children with chronic pulmonary diseases. İt is a genetic, chronic system disease that reduces life expectancy, and life quality as well. Chronic lung disease , malnutrition, and reduced activity, caused by disease lead to postural disorders. Muscle force, endurance, activity of Daily living are adversely affected. İn the treatment pulmonary rehabilitation are using. Airway clearance technique, pulmonary exercises, upper extremity ergometer, dumbbells, elastic bands, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation technique are applying. Resistance training using elastic bands has become an increasingly common intervention aiming to improve function by increasing muscular strength. İn one study indicated that muscle strength can be improved through three dimensional spiral large scale resistive exercises using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. İn the literature there isn't any research , uses elastic bands with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation for the upper extremity and evaluating pulmonary functions, posture, quality of life, muscle force. The aim of this study is giving exercises programme with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and elastic bands and to evaluate pulmonary muscle force, pulmonary functions, posture, activity of daily living, quality of life, functional capacity. And to evaluate the effect of treatment programme on these parameters. The subjects were divided in two groups. An experimental group three times a week for 12 weeks will perform proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises with elastic bands, and pulmonary exercises. The control group will apply only pulmonary exercises at home programme.

NCT ID: NCT03294057 Completed - Osteoporosis Clinical Trials

Collaborative Care With Smart Health Management Program for Patients With Chronic Illness

Start date: October 27, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study verifies efficacy of collaborative care with Smart Health Management Program developed for patients with chronic illness. The aim of the study is to observe the changes in clinical indicators, quality of life and health related behaviors when providing self-management programs with ICT for chronic disease patients.

NCT ID: NCT03188588 Completed - Hypoxemia Clinical Trials

Observance of Long Term Oxygen Therapy in Chronic Inspiratory Disease Patients

ObsO2
Start date: January 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) is the reference treatment for chronic respiratory failure. This treatment is based on the principle of oxygen supplementation via a source to correct hypoxemia in patients. At present, adherence to this treatment is difficult to evaluate (reporting by patients), but the results of the literature show poor LTOT compliance. It is therefore important to accurately measure the oxygen consumption by patients and to understand the factors explaining LTOT compliance. The ultimate aim is to improve our patient management to make them more observant in order to improve the therapeutic efficacy of the treatment.

NCT ID: NCT02894190 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Respiratory Disease

Development and Validation of the BVQ

Start date: September 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The main aim of this study is the development of the Beliefs about Ventilation Questionnaire (BVQ).

NCT ID: NCT02715219 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Respiratory Disease

The Effect of an AEP on Patient's Knowledge Regarding Asthma Disease and Inhaler Technique: RCT

Start date: June 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Asthma is an important chronic disease that causes a significant public health problem and the commonest medical conditions treated in health clinics giving rise to considerable morbidity and mortality. Several studies suggested that improvement of patient knowledge has become a key component of asthma management. In the study setting the education material for Asthma patient is available however the proper cannel to deliver it to patient remains a puzzle to the researcher, therefore this study is trying to close the gap between Asthma education material and patient. The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of an Asthma Education Program (AEP) result in improvement of patient's knowledge, medication adherence and inhaler technique. This is an experimental study a clinical trials. Data will be gathered utilising three an adapted instrument to assess patient knowledge of their disease, medication adherence and inhaler technique. Patients who are came to Asthma Bay in Emergency Department, Respiratory Clinic for routine follow up and admitted to ward will be recruited as study subjects. Subject who are agree to enrol in the study will be randomized into intervention and control group. Subjects in intervention group will be undergone one session of an AEP, however there are no intervention for control group but continue routinely follow up in Respiratory Clinic. To obtain the study result descriptive and inferential statistical analysis will be performed. To analyse the statistical significant of the change in patients' health outcome the pre and post of AEP independent t-test or chi-square test will be used. The expected finding of this study is to determine the effectiveness of AEP result in of patients' knowledge regarding asthma disease, medication adherence and inhaler technique, pre and post of AEP. Keywords: asthma, asthma education program.
