Filter by:Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is an important disease with the incidence of 6th all over the world. In Taiwan it is the fifth of male cancer mortality. Most of the patients were middle age and the impact for economy and society was incredible. For recurrent or metastatic HNSCC, the average life span was around 4-6 months. Most patients just can receive chemotherapy. However the chemotherapy can't have any survival benefit. Recently a study showed the Cetuximab plus chemotherapy with cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil had survival benefit in the recurrent or metastatic HNSCC. However in Taiwan, the cetuximab can't be given by health insurance for the patients of the situation. A lot of investigations recently showed the B lymphocytes got involvements in the squamous cell carcinoma carcinogenesis and tumor progression. In addition the B cell will influence the tumor associated macrophages and myeloid derived suppressor cells. Those immune cells could decrease the affect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Thus the B cell depletion has the possibility to develop a new treatment policy. Therefore investigators create a pilot clinical trial using Rituximab plus chemotherapy with cisplatin and gemcitabine for recurrent or metastatic HNSCC.
To use novel methods for quantitative analysis of VFSS (videofluoroscopic swallow study, also known as modified barium swallow) to study and compare dysphagia in patients treated for head and neck carcinoma with concurrent radiation therapy and chemotherapy (cisplatin) or targeted therapy (cetuximab) vs. immunotherapy (pembrolizumab, nivolumab, or durvalumab). Our hypothesis is that pharyngeal constriction will be greater (lower ratio) with concurrent immunotherapy compared to chemotherapy, as measured by the pharyngeal constriction ratio (PCR).

In this research study, Cemiplimab is being evaluated as a treatment for advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma in participants who have previously received an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant or kidney transplant. - This research study involves the following drug(s): - Cemiplimab - Everolimus or Sirolimus - Prednisone
This phase II/III trial studies how well sentinel lymph node biopsy works and compares sentinel lymph node biopsy surgery to standard neck dissection as part of the treatment for early-stage oral cavity cancer. Sentinel lymph node biopsy surgery is a procedure that removes a smaller number of lymph nodes from your neck because it uses an imaging agent to see which lymph nodes are most likely to have cancer. Standard neck dissection, such as elective neck dissection, removes many of the lymph nodes in your neck. Using sentinel lymph node biopsy surgery may work better in treating patients with early-stage oral cavity cancer compared to standard elective neck dissection.
This clinical trial aims to investigate the efficacy of Calcipotriol ointment combined with 5-fluorouracil cream as an immunotherapy for actinic keratosis in Organ Transplant Recipients (OTRs) before transplantation and determine whether it can prevent cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in OTRs post-transplant.
This study is conducted to investigate whether modified chemoradiotherapy with elective nodal irradiation reduces the locoregional recurrence that cannot be completely resected by salvage endoscopic resection and preserve esophagus without compromising overall survival.
In this Phase II trial of personalized immunotherapy in R/M HNSCC, gene expression of LAG3 and CTLA4 by RNA seq will be determined to select the appropriate agent (Ipilimumab or Relatlimab) to add to Nivolumab in patients with recurrent and/or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (R/M HNSCC) who have failed prior immunotherapy with anti-PD-1 or PD-L1 mAb therapy. The agent, either Ipilimumab or Relatlimab will be chosen based on the highest relevant immune gene expression (CTLA4 or LAG-3) as long as the minimum difference required is met.
This phase II trial studies how well cemiplimab before surgery works in treating patients with skin cancer that is high-risk and has not spread to other parts of the body (localized), has come back locally (locally recurrent), or has spread regionally (regionally advanced), and can be removed by surgery (resectable). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as cemiplimab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma Antigen (SCCA) contributes to the pathogenesis of psoriasis by inhibiting cell apoptosis, exacerbating epidermal hyperplasia and skin inflammation. Three studies have shown a correlation between blood levels of SCCA and the severity of psoriasis. Clinical scores of psoriasis severity are used in consultation to guide treatment of the disease (initiation of systemic therapy, dose escalation) but they suffer from several pitfalls: lack of inter- and intra-observer reproducibility, consumption of medical time. A readily available, inexpensive (24 euros) blood marker could be an interesting alternative to these clinical scores.
