A Survival Observational Study in Patients With Advanced IIIB-IV Squamous Cell Lung Cancer Receiving PD-1 Combination With Chemotherapy

This is a multi-center, open-label, non-interventional, retrospective registry study, with no pre-set statistical assumptions and will not intervene subject's clinical treatment or clinical management. In the study, the clinical data of the subjects will be retrospectively collected from the electronic health records (EHR) of each research center. The clinical information will be based on the actual medical records of the cases. After the retrospective study time (June 30, 2020), patients will be followed for one-year and two-year survival. Clinical treatment and management will be based on local clinical practices and regulations. This study will record the actual diagnosis and treatment, and will not interfere with any clinical decision. After subject-out, patients will be followed for one-year and two-year survivals, thus the follow-up consent will be exempted. All patients receiving PD-1 monoclonal antibody in combination with chemotherapy will be visited during the entire study period. At the end of study, investigator will check up on the conditions of patients who withdraw from the study.

Toripalimab in Combination With Chemotherapy as Induced Chemotherapy for Localized Hypopharyngeal Cancer

60% of hypopharyngeal cancers were locally advanced at the time of diagnosis. The standard treatment was surgery and postoperative radiotherapy. Compared with traditional surgery and postoperative radiotherapy, induction chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy has a better laryngeal retention rate without reducing the curative effect, and established an organ function preservation treatment strategy. Induction chemotherapy can reduce tumor burden and reduce distant metastases. At present, induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy has become the standard treatment for the laryngeal preservation in locally advanced hypopharyngeal and laryngeal cancer. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of a PD-1 inhibitor toripalimab combined with chemotherapy as induction therapy in hypopharyngeal cancer.

Recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is a hereditary skin disease characterized by cutaneous and mucosa fragility. Blister formations and erosions, resulting in chronic wounds and dystrophic scars, lead development of aggressive cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) in young subjects. cSCC in RDEB patients are often recurrent and sometimes aggressive. Although fibrotic and inflammatory microenvironment plays an important role in the tumoral process, specific mechanisms in cSCC of RDEB patients are still unknown. Actually, the only treatment is a wide surgical excision with poor prognostic (80% of death after the first occurrence of cSCC). The objective of the study is to describe the molecular signatures in the cSCC in RDEB patients

Hypofractionated Radiotherapy in Elderly Patients With Head & Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

The purpose of this research study is to investigate a shorter radiation treatment schedule for head and neck cancers in patients 70 years of age and older. Standard radiation treatment for head and neck patients normally requires that the patient travel to the hospital daily for 6-7 weeks to receive radiation treatment 5 days per week. This long course of radiation can lead to significant side effects resulting in some people being unable to complete the course of treatment. If this happens, and there are gaps in the radiation treatment, this can lead to worse outcomes.

Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Nivolumab in Combination With Paclitaxel in Subjects With Head and Neck Cancer Unable for Cisplatin-based Chemotherapy (NIVOTAX)

Chemotherapy for recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma is palliative and usually platinum based, and the patients often present with poor physical condition. Consequently, many of them are not able to withstand a platinum-based chemotherapy. The addition of taxanes to the armamentarium of drugs improve the outcome in this group of patients. An alternative and better tolerated regimen for these patients is paclitaxel in combination with cetuximab, included the in guidelines of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology. Recently, new treatments such as immune-checkpoint inhibitors have shown promising activity and good tolerability in patients with recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and has been included in the recently published guidelines from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer. Nivolumab (anti-PD1) has been approved for patients progressing on or after platinum-based therapy, as it clearly impacts on overall survival. This randomized phase II study will evaluate the efficacy of nivolumab plus paclitaxel for first-line treatment of recurrent or metastatic HNSCC in the platinum ineligible and platinum refractory settings. Control arm will be paclitaxel in combination with cetuximab, treatment included in the guidelines of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology.
