There is no granular retrospective data on breast cancer in transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) persons from a contemporary and diverse American cohort. The purpose of this investigation is to aggregate data from multiple institutions to describe the risk, diagnosis, management, and outcomes of TGD persons with breast cancer in effort to identify opportunities for future intervention studies to eliminate breast cancer disparities for this population.
The following hypothesis is tested: Medical grade honey in CIN II causes a higher clearance of the hr-HPV virus and an increase inthe normalization of CIN II lesions compared to expectant management.
Post-menopausal women with biopsy-proven DCIS will be enrolled into two cohorts. One cohort will receive neoadjuvant therapy with an aromatase inhibitor alone for about 12 weeks prior to surgery at 12 weeks. The second cohort will receive neoadjuvant therapy with an aromatase inhibitor and MUC1 vaccination (MUC1 peptide + Hiltonol®) pre-operatively at baseline, and weeks 2 and 10, followed by surgery at about 12 weeks. Patients in the vaccine cohort will be offered an optional boost vaccine 6 months after surgery.
The study hypothesis is that the rate of inadequate surgical margins after conservative breast surgery for DICS and the rate of reoperation (re-excision or/and mastectomy) is lower in the group of patients who underwent standard preoperative mammography and CEM to assess the extent of DICS, compared to the group of patients for whom the preoperative assessment of the extent of in situ breast cancer was not performed using one of the imaging techniques with contrast medium such as contrast mammography or magnetic resonance imaging.
This is a phase II double blind, placebo-controlled, randomized study of artesunate ointment for the treatment of HIV-negative men and women who have anal high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (anal HSIL)
This phase II trial evaluates tamoxifen, with or without omega-3 fatty acids, for reducing risk of breast cancer among postmenopausal and overweight or obese women who are at increased risk of developing breast cancer. Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator. It works by blocking the effects of the hormone estrogen in the breast. Tamoxifen is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for prevention of breast cancer in women at increased risk. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to decrease the amount of fats made in the liver. Omega-3 fatty acids may work to prevent cancer in overweight or obese individuals. Tamoxifen with or without omega-3 fatty acids may be effective at reducing risk of breast cancer among women who are postmenopausal, overweight or obese, and at increased risk.
