BO-112 and Pembrolizumab for the Treatment of PD-1/PD-L1 Refractory Liver Cancer

Start date: October 13, 2021
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This early phase I trial evaluates the side effects of BO-112 and pembrolizumab and how well they work in treating patients with Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage B or C liver cancer. Immunotherapy with BO-112, may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the tumor, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving BO-112 and pembrolizumab may help treat patients with liver cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04775056 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Chronic Liver Disease

A Study to Evaluate Vaccines Against COVID-19 in the Real World

Start date: August 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and the resulting coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have afflicted tens of millions of people in a worldwide pandemic. Considering its high mortality and rapid spread, an effective vaccine is urgently needed to control this pandemic. Recently, mass vaccination campaigns using newly approved vaccines, ranging from conventional viral and protein-based vaccines to those that are more cutting edge, including DNA- and mRNA-based vaccines are beginning in many parts of the world. Randomized clinical trials of different vaccines reported efficacies for preventing COVID-19 in the range of 50% to 95%. Although these randomized clinical trials are considered the "gold standard" for evaluating intervention effects, they have notable limitations of sample size and subgroup analysis, restrictive inclusion criteria, and a highly controlled setting that may not be replicated in a mass vaccine rollout. The aim of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, immunogenicity, and efficacy of different vaccines against COVID-19 under real-world practice conditions.

NCT ID: NCT04773769 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Study of Guanábana Leaves for The Treatment of Patients With Gastric, Gastroesophageal Junction, Pancreatic and Colorectal Adenocarcinomas; Hepatocellular Carcinoma, and Low Grade Lymphomas

Start date: November 7, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Guanabana, known also as Graviola or Annona muricata is a tropical fruit which has been commonly used as complimentary/alternative medicine in Latin American countries. The main compounds in Graviola are the annonaceous acetogenins. These acetogenins have been shown to be selective and toxic against various types of cancer cells in-vitro and in-vivo experimental animal models. In spite of this evidence of anti tumor activity of Graviola, no prospective clinical studies have been carried out to determine if it also has clinical activity. The Investigator have observed two patients at Auxilio Mutuo Cancer Center who experienced significant tumor shrinkage while taking a tea made of Graviola leaves. Neither of these patients were taking any other treatment for their cancer. The investigator propose to conduct a study using guanabana leaves extract in patients with Gastroesophageal junction(GEJ) adenocarcinoma, as well as in Gastric adenocarcinoma, Hepatocellular carcinoma, Pancreatic adenocarcinoma, Low Grade Lymphomas and Colorectal adenocarcinoma.

NCT ID: NCT04771988 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Radioembolization for Hepatocellular Carcinoma With Portal Vein Tumoral Thrombosis

Start date: May 8, 2013
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In patients with hgepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and portal vein tumoral thrombosis (PVTT), Sorafenib represents the treatment of choice but more recently, trans-arterial radioembolization (TARE) with yttrium-90 has been also proposed. A considerable percentage of such patients are not only able to achieve stability of the disease, but also to obtain a complete radiological response (CR). The possibility of achieving a CR might allow these patients to be listed for liver transplantation (LT), in order to cure not only the cancer but also the underlying cirrhosis that generated it.

NCT ID: NCT04770896 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma

A Study of Atezolizumab With Lenvatinib or Sorafenib Versus Lenvatinib or Sorafenib Alone in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Previously Treated With Atezolizumab and Bevacizumab

IMbrave251
Start date: April 26, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase III, open-label, multicenter, randomized, two-arm study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab plus either lenvatinib or sorafenib versus lenvatinib or sorafenib alone in participants with locally advanced or metastatic Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) who have progressed on prior systemic treatment with atezolizumab plus bevacizumab combination.

NCT ID: NCT04770207 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Intra-tumor Injection of Drug-eluting Microspheres With Multiple Drugs

Start date: November 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To study the safety and clinical effect of injection of drug-eluting microspheres with multiple chemodrug and protein drugs into advanced solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT04767906 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Cabozantinib Treatment in a Phase II Study for Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) Refractory to PD-1 Inhibitors

CaPture
Start date: December 14, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The CaPture trial is a prospective, multi-centre, non-randomized phase II study. Its aim is to assess feasibility, safety and efficacy signals of Cabozantinib treatment in patients with HCC and prior non-response or disease progression during a PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitor treatment. Since the potential study population is very small, the sample size has been fixed in advance to N = 40. Time on treatment (TT) will be measured as primary endpoint.

NCT ID: NCT04767750 Completed - Cancer Clinical Trials

Role of LncRNA H19 in The Regulation of IGF-1R Expression

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common cancer that poses a heavy economic burden on the healthcare system. In Egypt, it is the most common cause of mortality and morbidity-related cancer. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia. Cancer and type II diabetes (T2DM), the world's two most prevalent diseases, share many overlapping risk factors and predisposing pathological conditions. The exact mechanisms linking those two diseases are yet to be fully understood. In this study, the investigators aim to assess the relationship between Long Non-Coding RNA (lncRNA) H19 and Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 Receptor (IGF-1R) mRNA gene expressions in the blood samples of HCC & T2DM patients to investigate the probability of the presence of a pathophysiological link between HCC and DM that may become a therapeutic target for both diseases. To the investigator's knowledge, there is currently no human research study investigating both H19 and IGF-1R in both DM and cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04766736 Recruiting - HCC Clinical Trials

Netrin-1 & Hepatocellular Carcinoma HCC

HCC-Net
Start date: July 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Netrin-1 is a dependence receptor ligand participating in the pathology of several cancer types. It is up-regulated in chronic liver diseases, cirrhosis and HCC. We hypothesize that netrin-1 may play a detrimental role in HCC. The goal of this project is to characterize netrin-1 signals in HCC samples with ad hoc controls, to investigate the benefit of capturing netrin-1 in preclinical models of HCC and to try to define patients groups the most likely to benefit from this targeting approach in the clinic.

NCT ID: NCT04763707 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Serum Visfatin and Serum Vaspin in Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma on Top of Liver Cirrhosis

Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a global importance due to its high rate of progression and high mortality rates. Significant risk factors for the development of HCC are metabolic syndrome, obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Dysregulation of adipose tissue derived hormones(adipocytokines/adipokines) might also be involved in obesity-related liver carcinogenesis & due to the wide spectrum of visfatin and vaspin activities ,we focus in this study on their potential role in patients with HCV-related liver cirrhosis with and without HCC on top.
