NCT ID: NCT05940389 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Unilateral Cleft Lip

Nasolabial Soft Tissue Esthetics and Maxillary Changes in Unilateral Cleft Lip and Palate Using PreSurgical Infant Orthopedics With Different Approaches

PSIO
Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The nasal deformity is an abnormality in the appearance and structure of the nose in cleft patients having unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP). It involves the displacement of the lower lateral nasal cartilage, oblique and short columella, depressed dome, overhanging nostril apex, and deviated septum. Difficulty in breathing and smelling are the main problems of this deformity. Rhinoplasty for CLP patients is very complicated due to the complex nature of this type of deformity, especially in wide and bilateral cleft patients it is quite challenging.

NCT ID: NCT05940454 Not yet recruiting - Postoperative Pain Clinical Trials

Pericapsular Nerve Group Block in Shoulder Surgery

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Dear Patient, You have been scheduled for shoulder surgery by your surgeon. This surgery is performed under general anesthesia, that is, by putting the patient to sleep, and then moderate or severe pain is experienced. In order to prevent this post-operative pain, painkillers are given through the vascular access or the operated area, namely the shoulder, is locally anesthetized. Many techniques are used to numb the shoulder locally. One of these techniques is the pericapsular nerve group block and it is a newly defined technique. In this block, some of the nerves that carry the pain sensation of the shoulder are temporarily anesthetized with local anesthetics. This study will investigate how effective this block is in reducing pain associated with shoulder surgery.

NCT ID: NCT05941169 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Renal Cell Carcinoma

Primary Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Treated With Immunecheckpoint Inhibitors and Cytoreductive Nephrectomy

PrimerX
Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The benefit of deferred Cytoreductive Nephrectomy (CN) has to be re-assessed in the context of IO +IO and IO + TKI systemic treatment. Given the benefit of CN in the setting of first generation immunotherapy, it is conceivable that both trials underestimated the benefit of CN, in absence of immunotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT05941598 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Chemotherapy-Related Cognitive Impairment

Electroacupuncture for Chemotherapy-Related Cognitive Impairment

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this trial is to evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture compared to sham acupuncture in preventing CRCI among breast cancer patients scheduled to undergo chemotherapy.

NCT ID: NCT05941806 Not yet recruiting - Urinary Retention Clinical Trials

Prophylactic Use of Tamsulosin in the Prevention of Post-operative Urinary Retention in Men After Rectum Resection

R-POUR
Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The study will be a phase III double-blind randomized clinical trial. Participants will be recruited from the Department of General Surgery of the CHU de Québec - Saint-François-d'Assise and Hôtel-Dieu de Québec. The primary outcomes are the incidence of postoperative urinary retention in men undergoing rectal resection and the efficacy of prophylactic tamsulosin to prevent this type of complication. The secondary outcomes are the length of stay between experimental and placebo groups, the number of urinary catheterizations, the number of urine catheter reinsertions and total duration of urinary catheter being in-situ.

NCT ID: NCT05942989 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Obstetric Complication

The Effect of Reiki on Breastfeeding Self-efficacy, Pregnancy Complaints and Quality of Life

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Despite the benefits of reiki application, no study has been found that examined the effects of reiki on breastfeeding self-efficacy, complaints during pregnancy and quality of life in pregnant women.

NCT ID: NCT05943470 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Peritoneal Dialysis Solution Adverse Reaction

The Difference Between Daily and Alternative Day Use of Icodextrin

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Volume overload is an important cause of technical failure in peritoneal dialysis patients. Icodextrin can provide continuous ultrafiltration, which provides a new option for peritoneal dialysis patients. However, icodextrin metabolites are known to accumulate to some extent in the body, resulting in less ultrafiltration with long-term icodextrin use comparing with newly use. Therefore, the investigator hypothesized that a single dose of icodextrin would produce more ultrafiltration volume with the use of icodextrin dialysate on alternate days than with the use of icodextrin dialysate on daily uses.

NCT ID: NCT05945004 Not yet recruiting - Preoperative Care Clinical Trials

ChatGPT v.s. Human in Writing a Preoperative Visit Sheet

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this study is to evaluate the performance of large language models i.e. ChatGPT, in making preoperative visit sheets using clinical records. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Can large language models read clinical records and make preoperative visit sheets same as physicians? - Can physicians distinguish preoperative visit sheets made by physicians and models? Participants' records will be generated using ChatGPT-4, and read by both ChatGPT-4 and physicians to make 2 separate preoperative visit sheets, and form 2 groups, GPT group and physician group respectively. A group of professionals will compare result of above mentioned 2 groups to see if ChatGPT can afford to write preoperative visit sheets.

NCT ID: NCT05947019 Not yet recruiting - High Myopia Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Low-Level Monochromatic Red-Light for High Myopia Control in Adults

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical study is to confirm the effectiveness and safety of low-level monochromatic red-light for high myopia control in adults

NCT ID: NCT05947422 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Interstitial Lung Disease

CT Quantitative Assessment of Interstitial Lung Disease

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) refers to a broad category of heterogeneous lung diseases with different etiologies and features characterized by inflammation and fibrosis of the lung parenchyma and manifested as exertional dyspnea, interstitial patterns on high resolution computed tomography (HRCT), and abnormal pulmonary function tests (PFTs) The aim of this study is to investigate is there any correlation between changes seen in the lung parenchyma by HRCT and the pulmonary functions of the patients.
