Effects of Probiotics on the Gut Microbiome and Immune System in Operable Stage I-III Breast or Lung Cancer

This clinical trial evaluates whether engineering gut microbiome using probiotics will alter the body's immune system to react to stage I-III breast or lung cancers that can be removed by surgery (operable). Having diverse species of bacteria inside the bowel may help improve the immune system, particularly the ability of the immune system to recognize cancer. Taking probiotics may change the diversity and make up of the bacteria in the bowels, and change how the immune system reacts to breast or lung cancer.

Platelet Rich Plasma for the Treatment of Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause in Patients With Stage 0-III Breast Cancer

This phase I trial is to find out possible benefits and/or side effects of platelet rich plasma for the treatment of genitourinary syndrome of menopause in patients with stage 0-III breast cancer. Platelet rich plasma is produced by collecting approximately 60-90 ml (4-6 tablespoons) of blood from the vein in patients' arm. The blood is spun using a centrifuge that separates the plasma and red blood cells. This allows doctors to collect the platelet rich plasma that is then loaded into individual, sterile syringes for injection. Giving platelet rich plasma may help relief symptoms of genitourinary syndrome of menopause in patients with breast cancer.

Trial of H3B-6545, in Women With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Estrogen Receptor-positive, HER2 Negative Breast Cancer

The primary purpose of phase 1 portion of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) of H3B-6545 in women with locally advanced or metastatic estrogen receptor (ER)-positive, human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2)-negative breast cancer. The primary purpose of phase 2 portion of this study is to estimate the efficacy of H3B-6545 in terms of best overall response rate, duration of response (DoR), clinical benefit rate (CBR), disease control rate (DCR), progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) in all participants with ER-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer and in those with and without ER alpha mutation (including a clonal estrogen receptor 1 gene [ESR1] Y537S mutation).

Pembrolizumab and Binimetinib in Treating Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer

This phase I/II trial studies the best dose of pembrolizumab and binimetinib and how well it works when given together with pembrolizumab in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Binimetinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving pembrolizumab and binimetinib may work better in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer.

Incidence and Severity of Diarrhea in Patients With HER2 Positive Breast Cancer Treated With Trastuzumab and Neratinib

This phase II trial studies the incidence and severity of diarrhea in patients with stage II-IIIC HER2 Positive breast cancer treated with trastuzumab and neratinib. Trastuzumab is a form of targeted therapy because it attaches itself to specific molecules (receptors) on the surface of cancer cells, known as HER2 receptors. When trastuzumab attaches to HER2 receptors, the signals that tell the cells to grow are blocked and the cancer cell may be marked for destruction by the body's immune system. Neratinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving trastuzumab and neratinib may work better in treating patients with stage II-IIIC HER2 positive breast cancer.

Talazoparib Before Standard Therapy in Treating Patients With Invasive, BRCA-Mutated Breast Cancer

This phase II trial studies the side effects of talazoparib when given before standard therapy in treating patients with breast cancer that has spread to nearby healthy tissue and has a mutation in a breast cancer, early onset (BRCA) gene. Talazoparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth, and may be especially effective in patients with BRCA mutations. It is not yet known whether adding talazoparib before standard treatment is safe in treating patients with BRCA mutated breast cancer.

Zoledronic Acid in Treating Patients With Metastatic Breast Cancer, Metastatic Prostate Cancer, or Multiple Myeloma With Bone Involvement

This randomized phase III trial studies two different schedules of zoledronic acid to compare how well they work in reducing bone-related complications in patients with breast cancer, prostate cancer, or multiple myeloma that has spread to other places in the body and have bone involvement. Bone-related complications are a major cause of morbidity in patients with metastatic prostate cancer, breast cancer, and multiple myeloma. Zoledronic acid may stop the growth of cancer cells in the bone and may help relieve some of the symptoms caused by bone metastases. It is not yet known whether giving zoledronic acid more or less frequently is more effective in treating patients with metastatic cancer that has spread to the bone.

This randomized phase III trial studies doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, paclitaxel, and trastuzumab to see how well they work compared to combination chemotherapy alone in treating women with breast cancer that is human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive and has spread to the lymph nodes or high-risk and has not spread to the lymph nodes. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Monoclonal antibodies such as trastuzumab can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective with or without trastuzumab in treating breast cancer.
