Filter by:This is a single-arm, prospective, interventional study in cancer survivors and patients to examine the feasibility of a mobile health application, Elly (Elly Health Inc.), to reduce levels of anxiety, stress, loneliness, and social isolation. Participants will be given access to the Elly phone application developed by Elly Health Inc. and will be asked to complete questionnaires measuring quality of life at multiple timepoints during the study.
The Xpert BC Monitor is an mRNA-based urinary marker test for BC surveillance which measures the levels of five target mRNAs (ABL1, ANXA10, UPK1B, CRH and IGF2) from a voided urine sample by real-time RT-PCR. The Xpert BC Monitor automates and integrates sample processing, nucleic acid amplification, and the detection of target sequences. The performance of Xpert BC monitor regarding its sensitivity and negative predictive value was shown to be considerably high reaching 84% and 93%, respectively. Moreover, this high sensitivity was maintained in low-grade (77%) and Ta tumors (82%). Xpert BC monitor is going to gain now a wide popularity among practitioners in surveillance of NMIBC patients due to its simplicity to do, reliability and reproducibility. The investigators hypothesize that; Xpert BC monitor may be a useful tool in evaluation of patients, who are potentially candidates for repeat TURBT. It can refine the indications of repeat biopsy by exclusion of cases with negative test.
A two-phase study design will be used for this pilot study. In the first phase, a 2×2 crossover study will be used to evaluate the safety, tolerability and PK characteristic of APL-1202 and APL-1501 ER Tablets 3. Twelve healthy subjects will be in ratio 1:1 randomly assigned to two groups, randomization will be stratified by gender (male, female) in ratio 1:1. Each group will be dosed with APL-1202, APL-1501 ER Tablets 3 in a cross-over way. A 7-day (±1 day) washout will be required before next period of drug administration. The samples in first phase will be sent to bioanalysis lab for PK research at the end of first phase. The initiate of second phase will depend on the results of first phase within 30 days and not less than 7 days after the first phase.
This is a multicenter, open-label, dose-escalation/dose-expansion Phase 1 clinical study to investigate the safety, tolerability, PK profile, pharmacodynamics, and preliminary clinical efficacy of INCB106385 when given as monotherapy or in combination with INCMGA00012 in participants with selected CD8 T-cell-positive advanced solid tumors including SCCHN, NSCLC, ovarian cancer, CRPC, TNBC, bladder cancer, and specified GI malignancies (defined as CRC, gastric/GEJ cancer, HCC, PDAC, or SCAC)
One-arm clinical trial was adopted in this study. The surgeons performed remote urological surgery for patients through domestically produced "MicroHand" surgical robot system (Shandong Weigao Co., Ltd). The "MicroHand" surgical robot system consists of two physically separated subsystems named the "surgeon console" and "patient side cart". The surgeon console includes a stereo image viewer, two master manipulators, a control panel and several foot pedals. The patient side cart includes a passive arm that can slide in the up-down direction and be adjusted forward and backward, a swivel head that can rotate around the vertical axis, and three slave arms (one for the endoscopic camera and the other two for surgical instruments). The surgeon console (based in Qingdao) takes the surgeon's input and translates it into a control signal. After network transmission, the patient side cart (based in Anshun) translates the control signal into actual instrument manipulation. The 3D images captured by the endoscopic camera were simultaneously sent back to the screen of the surgeon console as visual feedback. Data between the surgeon console and the patient side cart were transmitted through a 5G network. The safety and effectiveness of the robotic system in remote clinical diagnosis and treatment were verified by the main judgment criterion and secondary judgment criterion. Six patients are planned to enroll in the clinical trial. Main judgment criterion: The robot-assisted telesurgery did not transfer to other types of surgery, such as open surgery or normal robot-assisted surgery. Secondary judgment criterion: operative time, blood loss, postoperative pain, preoperative adjusting time and hospitalization time. Patient enrollment: This trial aims to explore the safety and effectiveness of the domestically produced robotic system in remote clinical diagnosis and treatment through 5G network. Six patients are planned to enroll in the clinical trial, including 2 patients with adrenal tumor, 2 patients with bladder cancer and 2 patients with renal cell carcinoma.
A study looking at the feasibility of doing a full-scale RCT that investigates the use of tranexamic acid intravesically prior to continuous bladder irrigation treatment in the emergency department for urinary retention due to clots. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common histological form, accounting for 85% of all bronchopulmonary cancers (PBC). The advent of Immunity Checkpoint Inhibitors (ICIs) targeting Programmed cell Death-1 (PD-1) is changing current treatment algorithms. Preliminary results from work carried out in the Medical Oncology Department of the University Hospital of Tours suggest that immunotherapy targeting ICI, when administered beforehand, increases the effect of catch-up chemotherapy. In NSCLC, the progression-free survival (PFS) of 3rd line chemotherapy after anti-PD-1 immunotherapy was better than the PFS of 3rd line chemotherapy performed at the end of conventional chemotherapy. Moreover, the combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy gives paradoxically better results than immunotherapy alone. Immunotherapy restores the anti-tumor T immunity inhibited by the cancer cell. While the mode of action of ICIs is well known, the mechanisms of resistance to them are poorly understood. Several pathways are evoked, in particular the modulation of cellular interactions within the tumour microenvironment (TME), the molecular expression profile of cancer cells, or the immunological status of the patient. Regulatory T lymphocytes (Treg) participate in the maintenance of immune system homeostasis by ensuring tolerance to self antigens. Within TME, Treg inhibit anti-tumor T cell activity and potentiate tumor proliferation. The latter, by specifically recognizing tumor antigens, block the activity of effector T lymphocytes directed against tumor cells. Thus, an increase in circulating Treg concentrations and in TME is a poor prognostic factor, especially in NSCLC. Gemcitabine chemotherapy is commonly used in the management of NSCLC. Recent data show that gemcitabine decreases Treg activity and regulates levels of anti-inflammatory TME cytokines such as IL10, TGF-β and interferon-Ɣ. The hypothesis of this study is that the decrease in Treg blood concentration by catch-up chemotherapy restores sensitivity to immunotherapy.
