The study aims to collect data on ERBT globally in order to clarify its role in the management of bladder cancer over a 5-year observation period.
Background: Tumors in the genitourinary tracts can occur in the kidney, bladder, prostate, and testicles and can have common and rare histologies. Some cancers that occur along the genitourinary (GU) tract are rare. Some GU tumors are so rare that they are not included in treatment studies or tissue banks. This makes it hard for researchers to determine standards of care. Researchers want to learn more about common and rare GU tumors. Objective: To learn more about urinary tract cancers. Eligibility: People ages 18 and older with urinary tract or GU cancer such as bladder, kidney, testicular, prostate, penis, or neuroendocrine cancer. Design: Participants will be screened with questions about their medical history. Their medical records will be reviewed. Participants will have a physical exam. They will give blood and urine samples. They will complete a survey about their family cancer history. Clinical photographs will be taken to document skin lesions. Participants may have imaging scans of their chest, abdomen, and pelvis. They may have a contrast agent injected into their arm. Participants will get recommendations about how to best manage and treat their cancer. They can ask as many questions as they would like. Participants will provide existing tumor samples if available. They may have optional tumor biopsies up to twice a year. For needle biopsies, the biopsy area will be numbed and they will get a sedative. A needle will be inserted through their skin to collect a tumor sample. For skin biopsies, their skin will be numbed. A small circle of skin will be removed. Some blood and tumor samples may be used for genetic tests. Participants will have frequent follow-up visits. If they cannot visit NIH, their home doctor will be contacted. They will be followed on this study for life....
The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of erdafitinib in people with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) that has come back after standard treatment, such as Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) or chemotherapy instilled into the bladder. Participants in this study will have bladder cancer with a mutation in the FGFR3 gene. FGFR3 mutations are the most common genetic alteration in NMIBC and is present in the majority of recurrent NMIBC tumors. Genetic testing of the participant's prior or recurrent NMIBC tumor will be performed to confirm it has an FGFR3 gene mutation. Erdafitinib is a pill given orally (by mouth) that blocks the protein made by this altered gene, which may stop cancer cells from growing. Erdafitinib is already used as an approved treatment for metastatic bladder cancer. Researchers are doing this study to determine whether erdafitinib is an effective treatment for FGFR3-altered non-muscle invasive bladder cancer in the time period between when a recurrent tumor is identified and a TURBT (transurethral resection of a bladder tumor) or biopsy procedure is performed to remove it.
This study will assess if the CARES (Cancer Advocacy, Resources, Education and Support) intervention improves time to start of treatment after diagnosis and time to treatment completion for solid tumors (ex: lung, head, neck, thyroid, cervical, breast, bladder, colon, and rectal cancers) in rural patients.
Currently, in the treatment of bladder cancer the use of robotics has entered in clinical practice, therefor robotic radical cystectomy with or without reconstruction is offered to patients during counseling procedures, if deemed appropriate and possible. The aim of the study is therefore the long-term evaluation of the peri-post-operative, oncological and functional results of patients undergoing radical cystectomy, both with an open and robotic approach. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of 89Zr-labeled girentuximab (89Zr-TLX250) as a novel, carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) targeted PET/CT radiopharmaceutical for the imaging of Non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) patients.
This is a Phase 2, multicenter, randomized, open-label study evaluating the safety and efficacy of trilaciclib administered with platinum-based chemotherapy followed by trilaciclib administered with avelumab maintenance therapy compared with platinum-based chemotherapy followed by avelumab maintenance therapy in patients receiving first-line treatment for advanced/metastatic bladder cancer.
PEBBLE is an open-label, international, multicentre, window of opportunity phase II trial that aims to evaluate the effects of short-term preoperative therapy with bintrafusp alfa in patients with histologically confirmed urothelial carcinoma requiring radical surgery with bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection. Eligible patients will receive 4 doses of bintrafusp alfa (1200mg flat dose) at 14 day intervals before undergoing radical surgery. Patients will attend study visits at 6, 12 and 24 weeks following their surgery. After the 24-week post-surgical visit, patients will enter a follow up phase during which they will be contacted annually for 2 years after their surgery to collect survival and disease status data. The efficacy of bintrafusp alfa will be assessed on CT/MRI scan images and tumour tissue samples collected at baseline and after treatment with bintrafusp alfa.
