Filter by:70 patients with heart failure, AF and CRT with BiV<95% will be randomised to either AF ablation or AV node ablation. Evaluation at 6 months with echocardiography and clinical assessment.
The protocol aims to evaluate the efficacy of the radial ablation technique of the maintenance mechanisms in persistent atrial fibrillation compared to the isolation of the pulmonary veins evaluating the atrial fibrillation burden during one year follow-up.

Atrial fibrillation (AF), often referred to as an 'irregular heartbeat', is the most common abnormal heart rhythm worldwide. AF may be intermittent (termed paroxysmal) or sustained (termed persistent).Catheter ablation is increasingly being used to manage individuals with AF, however in a significant proportion of cases AF recurs. Such rhythm control interventions are known to be less effective in individuals with persistent AF compared with those with paroxysmal AF. Analysis of heart tissue of individuals with AF show deposition of scar tissue within the heart muscle and this scar tissue promotes abnormal electrical activity that is involved in causing AF. The aim of the proposed study is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of combining conventional pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) during catheter ablation for AF with adjunctive substrate ablation.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a major cardiovascular health problem: it is common, chronic and incurs substantial health-care expenditure as a result of stroke, sudden death, heart failure and unplanned hospitalisation. There is a compelling argument for the early diagnosis of AF, before the first complication occurs, but population-based screening is not recommended. Strategies to identify individuals at higher risk of new onset AF are required. previous risk scores have been limited by data and methodology. The investigators will use routinely collected hospital-linked primary care data and focus on the use of artificial intelligence methods to develop and validate a model for the prediction of incident AF. Specifically, the investigators will investigate how population-based data may be used for precision medicine using a deep neural networks learning model. Using clinical factors readily accessible in primary care, the investigators will provide a method for the identification of individuals in the community who are at risk of AF, as well as when incident AF will occur in those at risk, thus accelerating research assessing technologies for the improvement of risk prediction, and the targeting of high-risk individuals for preventive measures and screening.
After cardiac surgery, there is a high prevalence of postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF). However, its diagnostic and therapeutic management is poorly codified. This pathology is caused by atrial abnormalities which form the concept of atrial cardiomyopathy. New tools affording to itemize the atrial cardiomyopathy are needed. Indeed, current tools, as echocardiography and electrocardiogram are relevant but only lead to a raw evaluation of the atrial cardiomyopathy. MRI, because of the assessment of the atrial fibrosis by late gadolinium assessment (LGE) and 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) could be relevant to specify the atrial cardiomyopathy.
This is a prospective clinical research study. The objective of this study is to evaluate if clinical risk factors as well as structural features on echocardiography affect the maintenance of sinus rhythm after electrical cardioversion at 30 days. The investigators anticipate 140 patients to be enrolled in the study.
This study is a single-center, prospective cohort study to investigate non-invasive method to assess left ventricular diastolic function using echocardiography. Patients with AF who are referred radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFA) will be included prospectively. Transthoracic echocardiography will be performed during, immediately before RFA and with no cardiovascular medication taken between the exams so that the loading conditions during catheterization and echocardiography are as similar as possible. We will validate previously proposed echocardiographic parameters and creat an algorithm to identify the relationship between echocardiographic parameters of diastolic function and invasively measured LA pressure in patients with atrial fibrillation.
This is a prospective, single-arm, open-label clinical study following patients to 1 year, to evaluate the safety and performance of the Centauri system for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). The study will include adult patients (age 18-75 years) who are indicated for a first-time catheter ablation of AF where the pre-procedure treatment plan contemplates pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in patients with paroxysmal AF (PAF), and PVI - with or without additional left atrial ablations - in patients with Persistent AF (PeAF) of short duration (< 1 year).
CASTLE-HTx will determine if AF ablation has beneficial effects on mortality in patients with end stage HF who are eligible for HTx
