View clinical trials related to Atrial Fibrillation.
Filter by:This study is to describe the exact location of NOAF-maintaining foci and rotors after cardiac surgery identified by mapping using the non-invasive phase mapping with CardioInsightTM - 3D Mapping technology (CardioInsightTM, Medtronic Switzerland, Tolochenaz, Switzerland) and a low-dose computed tomography scan of the chest.
This study is a sub study of the Pure EP 2.0 trial. In a redo atrial fibrillation population, this study is designed to collect pulmonary vein signals pre and post ablation therapy, along with other non-pulmonary vein signals of interest during a redo ablation procedure. These signals are later evaluated for clinical relevance and impact on the procedure.
The main outcome of this study will be to compare the prevalence of PA AF episodes longer than 30 seconds versus the prevalence of PA AF episodes including episodes shorter than 30 seconds, in adult patients who survived IS or TIA with no previous history of AF, after 7-day Holter monitoring. Based on the previous assumptions, the secondary objectives of the project will be: 1. To compare the prevalence of patients diagnosed with BAF after 24-hour, 72-hour, and 7-day Holter monitoring. 2. To study the feasibility of using information obtained from the ECG during sinus rhythm, for example the characteristics of the P-wave, to predict the presence of PA AF and BAF. 3. To Collect a new database of multi-monitored, high-resolution, long-term ECG signals. The data will be used by the My-Atria consortium for research purposes, for the development and validation of arrhythmia detection algorithms. The results of the study are intended to have an impact on how AF is screened, diagnosed, and treated. The results will also contribute to the choice of the most appropriate secondary stroke prevention modality, which therefore refers to the treatment of subjects who have already had an episode of IS or TIA.
The aim of this study is to evaluate if internet- delivered cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), based on exposure principles and behavioral activation, improves QoL and symptom burden in patients with symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF), controlling for expectancy of improvement and attention from a caregiver, using an active control group (stress management). The study will include 260 patients with symptomatic AF despite optimal medical treatment in accordance with current guidelines.
This is a prospective, multicenter, cohort study aims to demonstrate the role of termination of AF in ablation for persistent atrial fibrillation, and evaluate the clinical outcomes in patients with or without AF termination.
The study is a pilot analysis using a decision on the risk and benefits of oral anticoagulation for stroke reduction for patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. This study is a feasibility and acceptability analysis but will also measure preliminary effectiveness measures. The investigator hypothesizes that a patient decision support tool will increase decision quality and secondarily increase the use of oral anticoagulation in Black patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
This is an observational, multicentre, prospective, post-market product registry for participants with AF for whom ablation by the commercially available Globe Mapping and Ablation System was indicated before enrolment into the registry. The aim of the registry is to confirm the clinical performance and safety of the Globe Mapping and Ablation System in a real-life setting.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a prevalent and serious disease in hemodialysis (HD) patients. Untreated AF increases the risk of deaths related to cardiovascular events and multiplies the risk of strokes by 5. Anticoagulation with warfarin significantly reduces the incidence of ischemic strokes in the general population, has a long half-life, and a narrow therapeutic index that requires periodic monitoring. In addition, warfarin treatment is a frequent cause of hospital admission for iatrogenesis. In HD patients, the relationship between stroke prevention benefit and bleeding risk is an unmet medical need. It should be noted that in these patients the risk of bleeding is multiplied by 3 to 10 times compared to the general population. The new direct-acting oral anticoagulants (NACOs), thrombin inhibitors (dabigatran), and activated factor X inhibitors (rivaroxaban, apixaban, edoxaban), do not require regular monitoring, but their plasma concentrations are altered with the deterioration of the renal function. According to its technical data sheets, they do not recommend its use in clinical practice for HD patients. However, the apixaban data sheet includes the results of a pilot clinical trial in the African American population on HD, suggesting that it is a safe anticoagulant drug. The objective of this clinical trial is to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and short-term safety (4 weeks) of apixaban in the Spanish population with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and on hemodialysis. Long-term safety will be assessed in the extension study: prospective cohort study of patients included in the clinical trial. Therefore, this project is comprised of 2 clinical studies (one clinical trial and one extension study) whose objective is to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and short and long-term safety of apixaban in patients on hemodialysis and with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (FANV). The results of this project (clinical trial and extension study) will provide evidence on whether apixaban may be the anticoagulant treatment of choice for this type of patient.
The purpose of this observational registry is to report real-world safety and performance of VeriSight for ultrasound guided ICE imaging in percutaneous cardiac intervention procedures when used in standard clinical practice.
The aim of the Correlation Of CoAGulation-Atrial Fibrillation (COAG-AF) study is to prove that an increase in pro-thrombotic biomarkers in AF is associated with an increase in AF burden. Secondary objectives of the study are the following: - To investigate the impact of catheter ablation on serum pro-thrombotic biomarkers in patients with AF. - To correlate coagulation biomarkers with imaging features such as, the degree of fibrosis found on Late Gadolinium Enhancement Magnetic Resonance Imaging (LGE-MRI) scans, which is a part of standard of care. - To determine baseline values of coagulation and pro-thrombotic biomarkers in the AF population and compare those baseline values with the general population values. - To compare central and peripheral thrombotic biomarkers in patients with atrial fibrillation.
