NCT ID: NCT03805555 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Radiofrequency vs Cryoballoon Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation Assessed by Implantable Cardiac Monitor

RACE-AF
Start date: June 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study is a prospective randomized comparison of two methods of catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation: Radiofrequency ablation which is the standard of care will be compared to Cryoballoon ablation to perform pulmonary vein isolation. Primary endpoint for the randomized comparison is the number of pulmonary veins that remain isolated on follow up investigation. All patients will receive an implantable loop recorder to monitor clinical response and identify patients who benefit the most from durable pulmonary vein isolation. All patients will undergo a follow-up invasive assessment of pulmonary vein isolation, and veins with reconnection will be re-isolated to determine if this strategy alters clinical long-term outcome of ablation.

NCT ID: NCT03804125 Withdrawn - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

A Study of Adverse Events and Suspected Adverse Drug Reactions in Patients Under Apixaban for Prevention of Stroke and Systemic Embolism With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation and Venous Thromboembolic Events in Patients Who Have Undergone Elective Hip or Knee Replacement Surgery

Start date: September 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

To characterize and analyze the number, type and incidence of adverse events/suspected adverse drug reactions in patients treated with Apixaban, according to therapeutic indications approved in Mexico.

NCT ID: NCT03803579 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Baseline Concentration of Direct Oral Anticoagulant and Incidence of Adverse Event Measure And See (MAS)

MAS
Start date: August 9, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The MAS Study is an observational, multicentre, prospective cohort study in Non valvular Atrial fibrillation (NVAF) patients treated with one of the direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) available in Italy for NVAF patients. The general aim is to deepen the knowledge of DOAC treatment in NVAF patients, by measuring the plasma concentration of anticoagulant drugs and their correlation with any adverse events that may occur during treatment.

NCT ID: NCT03800264 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Bisoprolol Versus Corticosteroid and Bisoprolol Combination for Prophylaxis Against Atrial Fibrillation After on Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery

Start date: May 2, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia that occurs after on pump coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. It is associated with postoperative complications, including increased risk of stroke, prolonged hospital stay and increased costs. Objectives: The aim of this study was to find reliable, effective, safe and well tolerated tools for the prevention of AF after on pump coronary artery bypass surgery. Patients and methods: The study included 176 patients (age range 40 to 79 years) and scheduled for elective on pump CABG operations without concomitant procedures. The patients were divided randomly into two equal groups. Group (A) in which bisoprolol was used for prophylaxis against atrial fibrillation after surgery. Group (B) in which bisoprolol and hydrocortisone were used for prophylaxis against atrial fibrillation after surgery. For each patient, the following data were collected: gender, preoperative diseases, intraoperative cross clamp time, cardiopulmonary bypass time, and Lt internal mammary Artery usage, incidence of postoperative atrial fibrillation, death, myocardial infarction chest infection and C - reactive protein levels.

NCT ID: NCT03799822 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Oral Anticoagulation in Hemodialysis

Start date: May 1, 2017
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The investigators refer to the trial with clinicaltrials.gov indentifier NCT02610933 entitled Effect on Vascular Calcification of Replacing Warfarin by Rivaroxaban With or Without VitK2 in Hemodialysis Patients. After termination of this trial, included patients will be asked to participate in the extension trial by continuing the treament of their respective allocation arm. No new intervention will be done.

NCT ID: NCT03795883 Completed - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

The Thrombotic Potential of Heart Chambers in the Presence or Absence of Atrial Fibrillation.

Start date: February 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The investigators aim to test the thrombotic potential of various heart chambers including left atrium, left atrial appendage, right atrium and peripheral veins. Blood samples will be taken from the different chambers in 50 patients admitted for standard pulmonary vein ablation and compared to patients without atrial fibrillation admitted for left sided supra ventricular tachycardia or mitral clip. Thrombin generation parameters will be assessed by the calibrated automated thrombogram.

NCT ID: NCT03795298 Active, not recruiting - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Comparison of Anticoagulation With Left Atrial Appendage Closure After AF Ablation

OPTION
Start date: May 20, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to determine if left atrial appendage closure with the WATCHMAN FLX Device is a reasonable alternative to oral anticoagulation following percutaneous catheter ablation for high risk patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.

NCT ID: NCT03793465 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Post-operative Atrial Fibrillation (POAF)
