Filter by:This study will focus on a rare cell population called fibrocytes in peripheral blood and synovial tissue in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). One group of patients with early RA and one group with long-standing RA. Both groups will be followed for 6 months. After informed and written consent a control groups is also formed: One for synovial biopsies for patients undergoing a routine arthroscopy, where a peripheral blood sample is also taken. The hypothesis is that fibrocytes are present in the blood and synovial tissue in RA. Patients with early and long-standing RA have higher concentrations of fibrocytes in peripheral blood and synovial tissue compared to a control groups. Levels of fibrocytes in peripheral blood and synovial tissue are correlated with RA disease activity measures and imaging findings.

This trial will test the hypothesis that the administration of CF101, a novel anti-inflammatory agent, to patients with rheumatoid arthritis will relieve signs and symptoms of the disease. CF101 effect will be in comparison to MTX in this study population.
This study will be conducted to find out how well a patient of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) will respond to disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). RA is a chronic inflammatory arthritis, which leads to joint damage & disability if not treated properly. A DMARD is used to treat RA that slows down or prevents joint damage, as opposed to just relieve pain or inflammation by painkillers. The study will be conducted at the Department of Clinical Immunology, JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research). Patients will receive either a single DMARD (Methotrexate) or combination DMARDs therapy (Methotrexate + Leflunomide + Hydroxychloroquine). During treatment course, routine blood investigations will be carried out to monitor treatment response and side effects.

The main objective of this trial is to provide long-term safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and immunogenicity data on BI 695501 administered via prefilled syringe in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis who have completed Trial 1297.2. The primary endpoint thereby is the number (proportion) of patients with drug-related adverse events (AEs) during the treatment phase. The secondary objective in this trial is the assessment of Long-term efficacy of BI 695501 by evaluation of: - the change from Baseline in DAS28 (ESR) at Week 48 - the proportion of patients meeting American College of Rheumatology 20% (ACR20) response criteria at Week 48 - the proportion of patients who meet the American College of Rheumatology (ACR)/European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) definition of remission at Week 48 - the proportion of patients with EULAR response (good response, moderate response, or no response) at Week 48.
