Filter by:This repeated measures, cluster randomized, cohort trial design was carried out in three provinces in the northern mountainous area of Vietnam. Communes here were randomly selected for community based interventions with local production complimentary foods and marketing and distribution of fortified complimentary foods.
The objective of this cluster-randomized efficacy feeding trial was to determine the effects of consuming iron-biofortified beans (Fe-Beans) on iron status in children, compared to control beans (Control-Beans). A cluster-randomized trial of biofortified beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L), bred to enhance iron content, was conducted for 6 months.
Co-design of a home-based anaemia monitoring system with participants who have previous diagnosis of anaemia.

The XIENCE 28 USA Study is prospective, single arm, multi-center, open label, non-randomized trial to evaluate safety of 1-month (as short as 28 days) dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) in subjects at high risk of bleeding (HBR) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with the approved XIENCE family (XIENCE Xpedition Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent System [EECSS], XIENCE Alpine EECSS and XIENCE Sierra EECSS) of coronary drug-eluting stents.
Objective: To evaluate the effects of recombinant Erythropoietin (rEPO) in plasma levels of Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 (FGF23) in End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients in hemodialysis. Method: Prospective cohort of ESRD patients in HD, where patients with or without rEPO therapy were compared. Measurements of plasma FGF23 were performed at baseline and during the complete study. Demographic, clinical and laboratory data will be obtained. Follow-up period: 12 weeks.
This is a Phase 2 open-label, single-arm design study with dose escalation by subject cohort . The study is designed to monitor the PTG-300 safety profile, to obtain preliminary evidence of efficacy of PTG-300 for the treatment in β-thalassemia.
This is a Phase 2 open-label efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) study to evaluate oral Vadadustat for the treatment of anemia in hemodialysis participants converting from Epoetin Alfa therapy.
Hepcidin production is normally upregulated by iron stores, and in obesity has been shown to be overexpressed and correlated with low iron status. The increased hepcidin may restrain the iron release from the cells by affecting the expression of ferroportin, which probably associates with the development of diabetes complication. Firstly, investigator examines the difference of serum hepcidin and iron parameters between obese and non-obese pregnant women; secondly, the correlation between serum hepcidin and adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes in pregnant women will be tested.
This study will evaluate the impact of early administration of erythropoietin in the number of red blood cell transfusions in children with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli hemolytic uremic syndrome (STEC-HUS).
