NCT ID: NCT06227871 Completed - Anastomotic Leak Clinical Trials

A Retrospective Analysis of Pancreatic Injuries and Treatment Outcomes

Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to compare the presentation, treatment, and outcomes in patients suffering traumatic pancreatic injuries from blunt or penetrating trauma. The questions this study aims to answer are: 1. Does a statistically significant association exist between pancreatic injury grade and the following individual factors: - Mortality - Morbidity - Injury severity score 2. Is there an association between post-operative pancreatic complications and operation-specific intervention? 3. Does pancreatic injury score correlate with certain intra-abdominal organ injuries? Participants meeting criteria are greater than 18 years old, with no history of pancreatic surgery who were hospitalized at Kern Medical Center after presenting to the institution's emergency department as tier 1 or 2 trauma activations following blunt or penetrating abdominal injury and were diagnosed with pancreatic injury during the same hospitalization.

NCT ID: NCT06180564 Completed - Clinical trials for Anastomotic Leak Rectum

Comparison of Rates of Anastomotic Leak in Patients Undergoing Colo-rectal Surgery When Bowel Perfusion and Resection Margin is Deterimined by Intra-operative Infra-red Thermography or by Conventional Method

Start date: August 9, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Pilot RCT with 20 patients in both test and control group. In the control group resection & anastomosis was done using the conventional method. In the test group after devascularisation the resection line was marked on the bowel wall and IRT done using a forward looking infra- red camera with a rainbow display. Resection line was determined by a sharp change in colour on the display screen (corresponding to > 30C change in surface temperature) over the visualised bowel wall. Margins were revised if difference between surgeon and IRT determined resection lines were more than 1cm apart. Anastomosis was done as per surgeon's preference.AL was the primary outcome measure. Hospital stay, operative time, blood loss, post-operative complications as per Clavien-Dindo classification were the secondary outcome measures.

NCT ID: NCT06156358 Completed - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Indicators of Anastomotic Leak After Colorectal Surgery

Start date: January 1, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational

We reviewed the patient underwent colorectal surgery with anastomosis and identified patients with anastomotic leak. Then we started to figure out what blood investigation could be related to anastomotic leak.

NCT ID: NCT06059924 Completed - Rectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Does the Management of Anastomotic Leakage After Low Rectal Resection Affect Survival

ISRECLeak
Start date: February 1, 1991
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this retrospective cohort-study is to assess the effects of AL and its severity divided according the ISREC-classification on the long-term oncological outcome.

NCT ID: NCT05987787 Completed - Clinical trials for Bariatric Surgery Candidate

Suture Reinforcement to Reduce the Leak Rate After Sleeve Gastrectomy

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Staple line reinforcement (SLR) has been suggested as a mean of reducing the risk of sleeve leakage or bleeding. The aim of this study is to analyze if the suture reinforcement can be used to reduce the leakage rate after sleeve gastrectomy.

NCT ID: NCT05981937 Completed - Anastomotic Leak Clinical Trials

ICG Anastomosis Control in Colon Surgery

Start date: July 20, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a parallel monocentric, retrospective cohort study in Guglielmo da Saliceto Hospital, Piacenza, Italy. Aim of this study is to investigate the protective role of Indocyanine green (ICG) for Anastomotic leak (AL) in patients underwent elective segmentary colic resection (transverse colic resection, left colectomy including sigmoidectomy, splenic colic flexure resection). Secondary aims are to detect and to investigate the impact of various risk factors on AL and morbidity and surgical performance within 30 days to surgery.

NCT ID: NCT05957562 Completed - Leak, Anastomotic Clinical Trials

Azygos Vein Preservation; Its Impact on Early Outcomes After Neonatal EA/TOF Repair

EArAzygousvp
Start date: April 10, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Azygos vein preservation revisited: impact on early outcomes after repair of Esophageal atresia/ Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula in newborns. A randomized controlled study.

NCT ID: NCT05753709 Completed - Ileus Clinical Trials

Conventional Hand Sewn End-To-End Anastomosis Versus Side-To-Side Anastomosis for Stoma Reversal: A Prospective Study

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare approaches to enterostomy reversal by hand-sewn end-to-end anastomosis versus side-to-side anastomosis (sub-divided into hand-sewn side-to-side anastomosis and stapled side-to-side anastomosis). The main question it aims to answer is: • If either of the approaches are better than the other with respect to success rates, efficacy, post-operative complications and overall morbidity. Participants admitted for stoma reversal will be divided into two groups: 1. EE: Conventional Hand-sewn end-to-end anastomosis, and 2. SS: Side-to-side anastomosis, which will be further divided into 2 sub-groups: 1. HSSA: Hand-sewn side-to-side anastomosis 2. SSSA: Stapled side-to-side anastomosis Researchers will compare the EE group to SS group overall, and a second comparison will be made between EE, HSSA and SSSA groups, to see: 1. Rates of major post-operative complications 2. Rates of short-term complications (within 30 days of surgery) 3. Rates of re-operation 4. Post-operative length of stay in the hospital

NCT ID: NCT05579912 Completed - Anastomotic Leak Clinical Trials

Start date: November 28, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To study the diagnostic specificity and sensitivity of various modalities used for the assessment of anastomotic leak in esophagogastric surgery and to identify the most sensitive technique. Secondarily, to propose a clinical algorithm to guide clinicians in the diagnosis of anastomotic leaks esophagogastric surgeries.
