NCT ID: NCT05284292 Completed - Caregiver Clinical Trials

GUARDIAN: The Social Robot Companion to Support Homecare Nurses

GUARDIAN
Start date: March 16, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to verify the acceptability of the GUARDIAN system by the elderly, detected through the scale Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The GUARDIAN platform consists of two connected apps: one dedicated to the caregiver and one dedicated to the older people, plus a robot (Misty II). Misty II will live with the elderly, it will have the task of detecting his presence inside the house, reminding him of appointments, assisting him in his daily activities and diminishing the sense of loneliness. The application dedicated to the caregiver receives the data and self reports of the elderly from the robot, in order to constantly offer an updated picture of the condition of the elderly and to keep them informed about their condition and well-being.

NCT ID: NCT05098912 Completed - Wrinkle Clinical Trials

Comparing Polydioxanone Thread Embedding Acupuncture and Manual Acupuncture for Nasolabial Fold Reduction

Start date: September 8, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study was aimed to compare the effectiveness of polydioxanone thread embedding acupuncture and manual acupuncture on the reduction of the nasolabial fold. One cycle of therapy in the manual acupuncture group (MA) was carried out with 6 sessions of manual acupuncture therapy while one cycle of therapy in the thread embedding acupuncture group (TEA) received 1 single session of thread embedding acupuncture. The outcome of the study was assessed based on the length of the nasolabial fold as measured by a digital vernier caliper, changes in wrinkle severity rating scale, and patient's subjective opinion of her nasolabial fold using visual analog scale. Outcome measurements were carried out after completing 1 cycle, and follow up at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months and 3 months after completing 1 cycle.

NCT ID: NCT05051501 Completed - Aging Clinical Trials

The Effects of Microbiological Spectrum Changes to Improve Cognitive Health in Aging Population

CleverAgeBiota
Start date: January 6, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this project is to develop probiotic dietary supplements intended for the elderly, which can modify the composition of the intestinal microbiota typically occurring in the aging population. According to currently held scientific knowledge, it is postulated that the probiotics-induced normalization of the physiological axis in the brain-intestinal microbiota affects the activity of the nervous system. Thus, normalization of this axis should lead to observable improvements in cognitive functions and quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT05021926 Completed - Aging Problems Clinical Trials

Safety and Performance of DKL Crosslinked Sodium Hyaluronate 26 Dermal Filler for Cheek Augmentation

Start date: August 30, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a pivotal, prospective, active-controlled, randomized, double blinded (blinded evaluator and subject), intra-individual split-face comparison, non-inferiority study of DKL crosslinked sodium hyaluronate 26 versus Juvederm Voluma™ after treatment of subcutaneous to upper-periostea tissue, or deep dermis implantation for cheek augmentation and age-related facial-volume deficit.

NCT ID: NCT05015777 Completed - Aging Problems Clinical Trials

Effects of Jaques-Dalcroze Eurhythmics Program on Postural Stability in Elderly Women.

Start date: March 6, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study investigated the effect of exercise using the Emil Jaques-Dalcroze's method on the postural stability of women over 65 years of age. The study model was based on a randomized controlled trial - parallel group design.

NCT ID: NCT04873791 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Comparison of the Effects of Different Living Environments in Geriatric Individuals: A Pilot Study

Start date: April 29, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In Turkey, 63% of geriatric people who make up approximately 8.3% of the entire population live in their own living environment, 36% live with their children and 1% live in nursing homes. The number of individuals living in nursing homes is increasing as the nuclear family structure becomes more evident. National Social Security programs give special importance to nursing home restructuring and Social Health Policy aims to increase practices related to "aging in place" and "Active and Healthy Ageing" for geriatric individuals. In this context, projects aimed at preventing secondary negative symptoms in aging and supporting the quality aging process are outstanding. The aim of this study is to assess and compare cognitive functions, balance, musculoskeletal pain severity, psychological state, participation level in activities of daily living, and quality of life of geriatric individuals living different environments.

NCT ID: NCT04563663 Completed - Aging Problems Clinical Trials

Dose-response of Anteroposterior Mobilizations in Weight Bearing Talus Dorsiflexion

ANKLE_WBROM
Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Ankle mobility limitations are common in older adults. A possible treatment to restore joint mobility is manual therapy based on mobilization techniques, in this case, applied on the ankle joint. Previous research had proposed different treatment volumes (one to twelve sessions), but shown a different and non-consistent degree of effectiveness according to such factor. Therefore, this work aims to determine the dose-response relationship of manual therapy (talus mobilizations) on ankle range of motion in the older adult.
