Filter by:This randomized phase II trial studies how well pemetrexed disodium with or without crizotinib works in treating patients with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer that has progressed after crizotinib. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as pemetrexed disodium, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Crizotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether giving pemetrexed disodium is more effective with or without crizotinib in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer that has progressed after crizotinib.
Pancreatic cancer is difficult to treat, and even in a situation where an operation can be performed to remove the cancer, the disease can unfortunately come back soon afterwards. When pancreatic cancer is more advanced, the outcomes are even less positive. Recently, a large international study showed that combining a chemotherapy drug that is standard for treating pancreatic cancer, called gemcitabine with a new chemotherapy drug called Abraxane was more effective than gemcitabine alone for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. The purpose of this study is to determine whether this combination of gemcitabine and Abraxane can shrink a pancreatic cancer that is not thought to be operable enough to enable it to be removed by surgery. It is hoped that in this way, the treatment may improve the outcome. In addition, in this study we would like to analyse the appearances of the tumour using imaging, and collect blood and tumour samples to try to confirm laboratory research that has been carried out with this treatment.
This registry is intended to measure the effect of myPlan Lung Cancerâ„¢ test has on treatment decisions of Surgeons when added to standard clinical-pathological parameters in patients with early stage NSCLC.The sponsor is conducting two parallel registries, with one directed at Surgeons (ONC003) and the other at Oncologists (ONC006).This registry is specific to Surgeons (ONC003). Outcomes measures on lung cancer relapse and death from any cause will be collected.

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of irinotecan-eluting beads in treating patients with colon or rectal cancer that has spread to the liver and does not respond to treatment with standard therapy. Irinotecan-eluting beads are tiny beads that have been loaded with irinotecan hydrochloride, a chemotherapy drug. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as irinotecan hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or stopping them from dividing. This treatment delivers the chemotherapy directly to the tumor area inside the liver instead of to the whole body as with systemic delivery of the drug. Irinotecan-eluting beads may work better that standard chemotherapy in treating patients with colon or rectal cancer that has spread to the liver.
This study consists of a Phase 1b portion aimed to determine the maximum tolerated dose and the safety profile of PF-03084014 in combination with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel followed by a Phase 2 portion to evaluate the efficacy of the triple combination in terms of overall survival in patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma not previously treated with anticancer therapies.
There will be two phases to this study. The lead-in phase will evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, and define the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of momelotinib (MMB) combined with nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine (nab-P + G) in adults with previously untreated metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The randomized treatment phase will evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of nab-P + G with either MMB administered at the MTD or placebo in adults with previously untreated metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Participants will continue study treatment until disease progression, unacceptable toxicity, consent withdrawal, or participant's refusal of treatment. Following treatment, participants will be followed for safety for 30 days and for survival approximately every 3 months for up to 3 years.
This is an exploratory, translational, non-interventional and multi-centre clinical study. The aim of the study is to identify predictive plasma biomarkers of response to chemotherapy in PDAC.
This is a psychosocial/behavioral study and does not involve administration of any treatment or diagnostic procedures. We will use a randomized trial to test the hypothesis that a decision analysis model that provides individualized estimates of quality-adjusted disease-free survival for each of the treatment options for clinically localized prostate cancer will lead to higher quality treatment decisions congruent with a patient's values leading to improved decisional regret and treatment satisfaction. In this trial, all patients would be evaluated at baseline for their utilities for various clinically important health states. The control arm will receive counseling regarding treatment options using standard patient-physician interactions and nomogram-predicted probabilities of treatment outcome for the various treatment options and they will be unaware of the decision analysis recommendation. The treatment arm would be counseled using standard patient-physician interactions and they would also be provided with a personalized treatment recommendations based on the decision analysis model prior to treatment selection. The primary endpoint of this study will be regret-free survival at 2 years after treatment. There will be a 1:1 randomization. A random permuted design will be used to assure approximate balanced number of patients in the two groups over time.
Assess progression-free survival and overall survival of proton beam therapy (PBT) for patients with resectable vs. unresectable esophageal cancer, and to assess patient-reported outcomes of PBT for esophageal cancer at 6 months following chemoradiation and physician-reported toxicity of PBT for esophageal cancer.
