Filter by:TRACE is a Multicentre Retrospective Study planned to gather follow up data for a period of 1 year in order to understand anti-thrombotic management patterns and outcomes of Acute Coronary Syndrome patients in India. This retrospective study is designed to provide a rapid and quick analysis of the existing database of ACS patients. So as to ensure quality check in the study, a pilot study will be conducted with around 500 patients at 10 centres across India and based on the meaningful results of the pilot study, full retrospective multi-centric study will be initiated at various selected centres across India. This study will use available registry data from a defined time period of Jan 2007-Dec 2009.
High density lipoproteins (HDL) have many effects that protect against cardiovascular diseases. In an acute heart attack (acute coronary syndrome -ACS), HDL change in composition and structure, reflecting the inflammatory environment that accompanies an ACS. The investigators will examine the function of HDL during an ACS and again when the patient has recovered.

This study is investigating whether a series of psychological exercises, called positive psychology, provides benefit to patients who have been hospitalized for heart disease (an 'acute coronary syndrome' or heart failure). In this study, subjects are randomly assigned to complete 8 positive psychology exercises over 8 weeks, or to complete different exercises in control groups. We hypothesize that patients who are assigned to the positive psychology tasks will be able to complete the exercises at a high rate, will feel that the exercises were easy to perform, and will have greater improvements of optimism, anxiety, mood, and health-related quality of life than subjects in the control conditions.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether interactive voice response (IVR) technology can be used to bring post discharge care for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) closer to best practice guidelines (BPGs). The study hypothesis is that ACS patients who are contacted by IVR technology will be more likely to receive care as recommended in the BPGs than those followed by usual care.

Rosuvastatin reload may prevent myocardial damage in ACS patients undergoing PCI
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the efficacy of tirofiban (a 25mcg/kg i.v. bolus followed by a 0.15mcg/kg/min i.v. infusion during a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) plus two hours after the procedure) is more effective than placebo in the setting of standard therapies (e.g. aspirin, a thienopyridine, and unfractionated heparin or bivalirudin) among patients undergoing PCI, as assessed by the incidence of adverse cardiac ischemic events defined as death, myocardial infarction (MI), and urgent target vessel revascularization (uTVR) within 48 hours following study drug initiation. A secondary objective of this study is to assess whether tirofiban (a 25mcg/kg i.v. bolus followed by a 0.15mcg/kg/min i.v. infusion during a PCI plus two hours after the procedure) is safe compared to placebo in the setting of standard therapies (e.g. aspirin, a thienopyridine, and unfractionated heparin or bivalirudin) among patients undergoing PCI, as assessed by the incidence of non-CABG-related TIMI major bleeding within 48 hours following study drug initiation. Patient enrollment is pending.
