Filter by:Patients may experience metamorphopsia, or image distortion, after having vitrectomy to repair their rhegmatogenous retinal detachments especially those with a detached macula. Retinal displacement, as measured on autofluorescence photography, likely contributes to this distortion. It is thought that the retina slips inferiorly due to the residual subretinal fluid shifting as the patient transitions from the supine position intraoperatively to the sitting up position in the immediate postoperative period. By having the patient immediate position facedown or according to the retinal break, the risk of slippage is theoretically decreased.
This study aims to compare the efficacy of an in-home telehealth-based intervention to standard care for children with cortical visual impairment and their caregivers and to assess the feasibility and acceptability of an in-home telehealth-based intervention approach for children with cortical visual impairment and their caregivers. This pilot study will utilize a randomized two group crossover design with assessment at 4 time periods. The assessments will occur at remote locations.
This study is a community trial that aims to establish and evaluate an mHealth screening and promotional tool for improving eye health in Iran. Sampling frame is a region in Tehran province with around 1 million sub-urban and rural inhabitants. investigators have obtained the list of health centers and their underserved population from the health authorities. In this region, health services are delivered through rural health houses, urban health posts and overhead health centers (221 units in total). investigators choose 27 units using cluster random sampling method with a probability proportional to size strategy, then investigators randomly assign them into three arms (explained below). The interventions will be at community level with the community as the unit of randomization. Arm 1- Training of the Primary Health Care (PHC) workers + PHC workers will be empowered with the mHealth tool to monitor, screen and promote community members Arm 2- PHC system will be strengthened with health promotion and screening programmes (same content as the mHealth tool) and PHC workers will deliver eye health messages and screening tests by the conventional facilities. Arm 3: Control group: only observation and registering of routine care
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of brolucizumab vs. aflibercept in the treatment of patients with visual impairment due to diabetic macular edema (DME).
The purpose of this double-masked, randomized, controlled, multiple-dose study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability and systemic exposure of sepofarsen (QR-110) administered via intravitreal injection in subjects with Leber's Congenital Amaurosis (LCA) due to the CEP290 p.Cys998X mutation after 24 months of treatment
Subjects completing participation in study PQ-110-001 (EudraCT 2017-000813-22 / NCT03140969) will be given the opportunity to enroll into the extension study for continued dosing if available data support current and/or future benefits for the subject. Study PQ-110-002 will provide long-term safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic (PK), and efficacy data of QR-110.
A retrospective, non-interventional, observational, multi-center, drug utilization study to be conducted in adult participants with visual impairment due to DME treated with Ozurdex implants in Germany and Switzerland from 1 January 2015 to 1 September 2017.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of a single escalating doses of EDIT-101 administered via subretinal injection in participants with LCA10 caused by a homozygous or compound heterozygous mutation involving c.2991+1655A>G in intron 26 of the CEP290 gene ("LCA10-IVS26").
The aim of this study was to investigate the eye structure, visual impairment, visual motor development and motor coordination of children between 2-6 ages that had applied to diod laser photocoagulation and intravitreal anti - vascular endothelial growth factor treatment.
To examine how helpful the iExaminer will be as a training aid for medical students. The investigators will look into whether 1) it helps the medical students find pertinent eye findings for certain diagnoses and 2) it improves the medical students comfort level compared to using the PanOptic alone.
