Filter by:A retrospective chart review and a six-month prospective outcome analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a vaccination education intervention and vaccination adherence among IBD patients at Weill-Cornell Medical Center. It is hypothesized that a general vaccination education campaign will improve vaccination adherence rates for all IBD patients. Secondarily, it is hypothesized that an Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccination intervention targeted at high-risk IBD patients will increase vaccination adherence among these patients.
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation and bleeding from the lining of the rectum and colon (large intestine).Crohn's disease (CD) is a long-lasting condition causing inflammation that can affect any part of the gut. CD may cause tiredness, loose stools with or without bleeding, abdominal pain, weight loss, and fever. This study will evaluate the effect of repeated infusions of risankizumab on the pharmacokinetics of sensitive probe substrates of Cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes in participants with moderately to severely active UC or CD. Risankizumab is an investigational drug being developed to treat trial participants with inflammatory diseases such as UC and CD. The study is split into two periods. In Period 1, participants will receive single oral doses of CYP sensitive probes and in Period 2, participants will receive risankizumab followed by single oral doses of CYP sensitive probes. Around 20 adult participants with moderately to severely active CD or UC will be enrolled in the study across multiple sites worldwide. In Period 1, participants will receive oral doses of CYP sensitive probes on Day 1. In Period 2, participants will receive risankizumab by intravenous (IV) infusion on Days 1, 29 and 57 followed by oral CYP sensitive probes on Day 64. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the course of the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests and checking for side effects.
This is a prospective, observational, multicenter study conducted in adult patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) or Crohn's disease (CD). The study plans to recruit 300 subjects in the United States and Canada in which the participating physician has decided to treat with INFLECTRA. The study will evaluate treatment patterns, adherence, disease activity, remission status, relapse status, treatment satisfaction, and healthcare resource utilization. Patient outcomes will be assessed at four time points (quarterly) for approximately 52 weeks after the decision to initiate treatment with INFLECTRA.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of upadacitinib compared to placebo in inducing clinical remission (per Adapted Mayo score) in participants with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC).
The objectives of Sub-Study 1 are to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics of risankizumab as induction treatment in subjects with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC), and to identify the appropriate induction dose of risankizumab for further evaluation in Sub-Study 2. The objective of Sub-Study 2 is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of risankizumab compared to placebo in inducing clinical remission in subjects with moderately to severely active UC.

This study was comprised of three substudies. The objective of Substudy 1 was to characterize the dose-response, efficacy, and safety of upadacitinib compared to placebo in inducing clinical remission to identify the induction dose of upadacitinib for further evaluation in Substudy 2. The objective of Substudy 2 was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of upadacitinib compared to placebo in inducing clinical remission in participants. The objective of Substudy 3 was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of upadacitinib compared to placebo in achieving clinical remission in participants who had a response following induction with upadacitinib.
When women with rheumatoid arthritis become pregnant 75% of them will go into remission, despite stopping medication. This phenomenon is not well understood and is not seen in other inflammatory conditions. Once they give birth they often relapse. Bacteria in the stool and inside the gut have the ability to effect the immune system and some beneficial bacteria are known to down regulate inflammatory components of the immune system. Gut bacteria are also known to alter significantly during pregnancy and in other inflammatory conditions there are low levels of beneficial bacteria associated with diseases like ulcerative colitis. There is significant crossover between rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease with similar arthritic symptoms and mechanisms of inflammation. There is very limited investigation of gut bacteria and rheumatoid arthritis, but some animal work has shown that treatment with probiotics and prebiotics can improve the condition. The aim of this study is to examine the bacteria in the stool of women who are pregnant with rheumatoid arthritis and identify any significant bacteria changes that might be used to direct future research.
This study assesses the long?term effectiveness of adalimumab in subjects starting a treatment for ulcerative colitis in real life conditions, namely to describe the time to loss of clinical benefit in a time to event approach.
