NCT ID: NCT06324578 Recruiting - Sjögren Clinical Trials

Prevalence of Pre-clinical Sjögren Disease and Other Immune Disturbances in Subjects With Autoimmune Thyroiditis Disease

Start date: September 25, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The main study hypothesis is that Sjögren Disease (SD), usually considered a disorder typical of adult females, may occur not exceptionally in adolescence or even in childhood as a subclinical process. There are several pieces of evidence in favor of this hypothesis, from the incidental detection of asymptomatic SD in pediatric age to biobank-based studies showing that biological signs of SD may precede the disease clinical onset by years or decades. The best scenario to verify this hypothesis could be that of autoimmune thyroiditis, for the following three reasons: 1) subjects with Autoimmune thyroiditis (AT) have a high risk of developing SD (7%); 2) in cases with comorbidity of SD and AT the diagnosis of AT had usually been made before; 3) subjects with AT routinely undergo periodic blood examination and neck ultrasonography (US), which may include Salivary Gland Ultrasound (SGUS) providing contributive data to detect an asymptomatic pre-SD. The knowledge of the real association between AT and pre-SD may impact on several aspects of medicine.

NCT ID: NCT04952012 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Thyroiditis, Autoimmune

The Effect of Thyroid Antibodies on Female Reproductive Function and Pregnancy Outcomes

Start date: November 30, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Some women at reproductive age have positive antithyroid antibodies (ATAs). Thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) and thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb) are the most common ATAs. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of ATAs on maturation of women reproductive system and pregnancy outcomes.

NCT ID: NCT04942769 Recruiting - Selenium Clinical Trials

Study on the Effect of Selenium Supplementation on the Structure and Function of Autoimmune Thyroiditis

Start date: December 20, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the effects of exogenous selenium supplementation on autoimmune thyroiditis.

NCT ID: NCT04778865 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Effect of Treatment for Vitamin D Deficiency on Thyroid Function and Autoimmunity in Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.

Start date: November 20, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of vitamin D supplementation on thyroid autoimmunity, thyroid function, and other metabolic and clinical variables associated with the thyroid axis in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and vitamin D deficiency.

NCT ID: NCT04693936 Recruiting - Psoriasis Clinical Trials

Metabolic Biomarkers in Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and Psoriasis

Start date: February 2, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Hashimoto's disease (HT) and psoriasis (PsO) have a significant impact on patient's quality of everyday life, and early diagnosis is critical for the symptoms management and prognosis. There is evidence that HT and PsO share common metabolic pathways that relate to their pathogenesis, and are affected by dietary and lifestyle factors. Previous studies have identified potential metabolic biomarkers, although the small number of studies hamper their validation. Of note, most studies are not longitudinal thus do not capture the metabolic fluctuations in response to disease progression or dietary changes. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify metabolic biomarkers of HT and PsO and study the role of epigenetic factors (diet and lifestyle) on the involved metabolic pathways . In addition, a comparative analysis of the disease-related quality of life (QoL) will be performed in relation to dietary changes to unravel possible links between the QoL and the associated metabolic pathways in HT and PsO.

NCT ID: NCT04410601 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Post-thyroidectomy Dysphagia: An International Multicentric CONSORT - Compatible RCT

Dysphagia-TT
Start date: May 14, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The most common and feared complications of total thyroidectomy are vocal cord paralyses and hypocalcemia. However, post-thyroidectomy dysphagia is not uncommon and has important consequences on the quality of life (QoL). It should be taken seriously by all clinicians.

NCT ID: NCT03641638 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Postpartum Thyroiditis

Correlation Between Different Levels of Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody and Postpartum Thyroiditis in Early Pregnancy

Start date: August 31, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

At present, attention to thyroid disease during pregnancy is increasing at home and abroad, but there is relatively little concern about postpartum thyroid disease, especially high incidence of postpartum thyroiditis (PPT). This observational study is to investigate the relationship between different levels of thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) and postpartum thyroiditis (PPT) in early pregnancy (1-12 weeks of pregnancy), and to explore whether PPT can be predicted by different TPOAb levels. According to the TPOAb level in early pregnancy, the postpartum of pregnant women was followed up, PPT was detected early, and intervention was performed according to thyroid dysfunction.

NCT ID: NCT03447093 Recruiting - Microbiota Clinical Trials

The Oral Microbiota is Associated With Autoimmune Thyroiditis

Start date: December 23, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Autoimmune thyroiditis (AITD) mainly includes Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and Grave's disease (GD). Studies have shown that autoimmune thyroiditis is closely related to microbial disorders such as autoimmune thyroiditis However, there is no report on the relationship between oral microecology and autoimmune thyroiditis. Therefore, our group will study the correlation between oral microbiota and AITD.
