NCT ID: NCT03181100 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Poorly Differentiated Thyroid Gland Carcinoma

Atezolizumab With Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Anaplastic or Poorly Differentiated Thyroid Cancer

Start date: July 27, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well atezolizumab in combination with chemotherapy works in treating patients with anaplastic or poorly differentiated thyroid cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as atezolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Vemurafenib and cobimetinib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Drugs such as nab-paclitaxel and paclitaxel work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This trial is being done to see if atezolizumab in combination with chemotherapy works better in treating patients with anaplastic or poorly differentiated thyroid cancer compared to standard treatments.

NCT ID: NCT03162627 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Malignant Neoplasm of Breast

Selumetinib and Olaparib in Solid Tumors

Start date: August 4, 2017
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study has 2 phases: Phase 1 (dose escalation) and Phase 2 (dose expansion). The goal of Phase 1 of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose combination of selumetinib and olaparib that can be given to patients who have solid tumors that are advanced or recurrent (has returned after treatment). The goal of Phase 2 is to learn if the highest tolerable dose combination found in Phase 1 can help to control advanced or recurrent solid tumors. The safety of the study drug combination will also be studied in both parts. This is an investigational study. Selumetinib is not FDA approved or commercially available. It is currently being used for research purposes only. Olaparib is FDA approved and commercially available for the treatment of ovarian cancer that has a certain type of genetic mutation (change). It is considered investigational to use selumetinib in combination with olaparib to treat advanced or recurrent cancer. The study doctor can explain how the study drugs are designed to work. Up to 90 participants will be enrolled in this study. All will take part at MD Anderson.

NCT ID: NCT03085056 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer

Trametinib in Combination With Paclitaxel in the Treatment of Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer

Start date: March 15, 2017
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the safety and tolerability of this treatment combination of paclitaxel and trametinib. Additionally, this study aims to to find out what effects the combination of paclitaxel and trametinib has on the shrinkage and growth of anaplastic thyroid cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03048877 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Differentiated Thyroid Cancer

Efficacy of Apatinib in Radioactive Iodine-refractory Differentiated Thyroid Cancer

Start date: December 2016
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Radioactive iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer (RAIR-DTC) is a great challenge in the treatment of thyroid cancer. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), like sorafenib and lenvatinib which have been approved by food and drug administration (FDA), could not be affordable for most of the Chinese patients. Apatinib is a highly selective VEGFR2 inhibitor and reduces the angiogenesis of tumor effectively, which is a proven and effective drug in many solid tumors. A phase II study aims to assess the efficacy and safety of apatinib in RAIR-DTC ,which enrolled 20 patients and 10 of them had obtained a shout-term efficacy, demonstrating the peculiar potential in treatment of RAIR-DTC. In this study, the investigators aim to further explore the efficacy and safety of apatinib in RAIR-DTC.

Start date: May 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study is a multi-center prospective cohort study of active surveillance in papillary thyroid cancer with low risk. Cabozantinib-S-Malate in Treating Younger Patients With Recurrent, Refractory, or Newly Diagnosed Sarcomas, Wilms Tumor, or Other Rare Tumors

Start date: May 18, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well cabozantinib-s-malate works in treating younger patients with sarcomas, Wilms tumor, or other rare tumors that have come back, do not respond to therapy, or are newly diagnosed. Cabozantinib-s-malate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for tumor growth and tumor blood vessel growth.

NCT ID: NCT02839655 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Patients With Thyroid Cancer

Prospective Study Assessing Thyroidectomy Using Robot

EVATAR
Start date: June 30, 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The robot-assisted surgery for benign and malignant thyroid tumors was widely developed in Asia and begins to spread in Western countries. The main advantage of the technique is to avoid a scar in the neck by placing it either in the axilla or at the hairline behind the ear to improve esthetic consequences and body image. It is not surgery minimally invasive but rather a way of remote access surgery. Data from the literature including cohort studies and meta-analyzes attest the security of the procedure in comparison with classic thyroid surgery (which remains the "gold standard"). However there is few data on the effectiveness of the technique in terms of the completeness of the surgery, according to the routine standard criteria used in endocrinology and endocrine cancer, and no French medico-economic study has been performed.

NCT ID: NCT02834013 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

A Study Using Regorafenib as Second or Third Line Therapy in Metastatic Medullary Thyroid Cancer

Start date: January 2016
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This research study is studying a targeted therapy as a possible treatment for thyroid cancer. A targeted therapy is a type of treatment that uses drugs or other substances to identify and attack specific types of cancer cells with less harm to normal cells. - The name of the study intervention involved in this study is regorafenib.
