NCT ID: NCT06029946 Not yet recruiting - Thyroid Nodule Clinical Trials

B-mode Ultrasound, Sono-Elastography, and Diffusion-weighted Imaging MRI in Thyroid Nodules

Start date: September 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To compare the accuracy of the conventional Ultrasound 'TI-RADS', US elastography, DWI MRI, and its ADC value in characterization and differentiation of thyroid nodules.

NCT ID: NCT05989555 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Thyroid Carcinoma, Nonmedullary

Effects of Radioactive Iodine on the Immune System in Thyroid Cancer

SCIMITAR
Start date: January 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Blood will be drawn 1 month before and 2 month after regular radioactive iodine treatment. Monocytes will be isolated. The three main outcomes are whole blood counts, cytokine production upon in vitro stimulation of monocytes and in vitro ROS production by monocytes. These results are compared between patients treated in adjuvant setting and patients treated for persistent structural disease, and between pre- and post-treatment status.

NCT ID: NCT05975866 Not yet recruiting - Hypothyroidism Clinical Trials

The Effects of an Anti-inflammatory Diet With or Without Curcumin Supplementation on Anthropometric Measurements, Concentrations of Thyroid Hormones, Anti-TPO, and Systemic Inflammation in Plasma and NFK-B in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells in Patients With Hashimato

Start date: September 23, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate The effects of an anti-inflammatory diet with or without curcumin supplementation on anthropometric measurements, concentrations of thyroid hormones, anti-TPO, and systemic inflammation in plasma and NFK-B in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in patients with Hashimoto. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does prescribing an anti-inflammatory diet with or without curcumin supplementation significantly affect the changes in anthropometric measurements (weight, body mass index, BMI, waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio) in patients with Hashimoto's disease? 2. Does prescribing an anti-inflammatory diet with or without curcumin supplementation significantly affect the changes in the serum concentration of thyroid hormones (T3, T4, TSH) in patients with Hashimoto's disease? 3. Does prescribing an anti-inflammatory diet with or without curcumin supplementation significantly affect the change of Anti-TPO concentration in patients with Hashimoto's disease? 4. Does prescribing an anti-inflammatory diet with or without curcumin supplementation significantly affect the changes in systemic inflammation indicators (hs-CRP, IL-6) in plasma and NF-κB in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in patients with Hashimoto's disease?

NCT ID: NCT05819593 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer

Evaluating Trends in Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer Patients' Clinical Study Experiences

Start date: May 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Clinical trials can sometimes favor certain demographic groups. Additionally, there is limited research that delves into the factors that influence participation in clinical study, both positive and negative. The goal is to identify the obstacles and challenges that prevent participation in anaplastic thyroid cancer clinical research, as well as the reasons for withdrawal or discontinuation. Insights gained from this study will ultimately benefit those with anaplastic thyroid cancer who may be invited to participate in clinical research in the years to come.

NCT ID: NCT05798936 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Benign Thyroid Nodule

Comparative Study of Polidocanol and Absolute Alcohol for Percutaneous us Guided Treatment of Benign Thyroid Cyst

Start date: April 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous ethanol injection and percutaneous polidocanol injection for the treatment of benign cystic and predominantly cystic thyroid nodules.

NCT ID: NCT05758038 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Thyroid Nodule (Benign)

US-guided RFA vs MWA in the Treatment of Benign Thyroid Nodules

Start date: March 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To evaluate the clinical outcomes of RFA and MWA for benign thyroid nodules treatment

NCT ID: NCT05758025 Not yet recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

A New Surgical Strategy to Protect the Inferior Parathyroid

Start date: March 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The incidence of temporary hypoparathyroidism after thyroid surgery is 14%-60%, and the incidence of permanent hypoparathyroidism is 4%-11%. The protection of parathyroids has always been the focus and difficulty of thyroid surgery. The anatomical position of the superior parathyroids is relatively fixed, and can be preserved in situ easily; while the anatomical position of inferior parathyroids varies greatly between patients. It is always difficult to look for, identify, and protect them. Concepts such as thyro-thymic ligament and "thymus-vascular-inferior parathyroid plane" were raised to help identify the inferior parathyroids. We found that this surgical strategy can protect inferior parathyroids in situ effectively in our retrospective studies. Thus, we are going to carry out a prospective study to compare the new method and the traditional method of thyroidectomy, to see if more inferior parathyroids can be protected in situ through the new surgical strategy.

NCT ID: NCT05734326 Not yet recruiting - Thyroid Nodule Clinical Trials

Elastography and FNAC in Thyroid Nodule

Start date: May 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Evaluate the accuracy of USE in comparison with FNAC in characterization of solitary thyroid nodule and assessment the risk of malignancy

NCT ID: NCT05726981 Not yet recruiting - Thyroid Nodules Clinical Trials

Ultrasound and Cytological Evaluation 3 Years After Radiofrequency Thermal Ablation of Benign Thyroid Nodules : a Prospective Exploratory Cohort of 180 Nodules

CYTOTHYRAF
Start date: February 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

There is no scientific data on post-thermal ablation cytological aspects, but treated nodules that grow back significantly after a procedure justify a new cytology in order not to ignore a neoplastic process. The EU-TIRADS classification usually used to stratify the risk of cancer (and to justify a fine needle aspiration biopsy) of thyroid nodules is not validated for nodules treated by thermal ablation (TA) (post-RF nodules). However, these nodules often acquire ultrasound criteria of suspicion making it necessary to develop an ultrasound stratification of the risk of malignancy specific to nodules treated by TA. The objective of this work is to describe the ultrasound and cytological aspects of these treated nodules by performing a systematic assessment at 3 years after thermal ablation including systematic neck ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy. Thus, an ultrasound and cytological atlas (Bethesda classification 2017) of nodules treated by thermal ablation will be constituted.
