NCT ID: NCT05185635 Not yet recruiting - Neuropsychology Clinical Trials

Validating Neuropsych Tests in Spanish-speakers

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The proposed pilot further emphasizes the need for collecting language and demographic specific norms for Spanish-speaking Latino individuals in the U.S. by developing new normative test data for this demographic population. The study looks to contribute to minimize healthcare disparities and inaccurate test interpretations, which can have direct implications on diagnosis and treatment. This study will allow us to develop new neuropsychological test norms for predominantly Spanish-speaking adults by establishing expected cognitive performance on a battery of frequently used neuropsychological tests. As such, the current study will help fill a large gap in the literature pertaining to neuropsychological assessment of Spanish-Speakers living in the U.S., as well as produce data of clinical utility for providers working with this population. Finally, this pilot could serve as a model to eventually extend it to other non-English speaking populations in the US.

NCT ID: NCT04505046 Recruiting - Performance Clinical Trials

Validation of INSPiRED Innovative Smart Diagnostic Devices for the Detection of Parasites Infections.

INSPiRED-WP3
Start date: March 20, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Malaria, schistosomiasis and ancylostomiasis are three parasitic diseases which affect hundreds of millions of people and are an important cause of global mortality and morbidity. For the control of these poverty related parasitic diseases, and to complement chemotherapeutic strategies, accurate and accessible diagnostic procedures play a crucial role. In recent years, innovative smart mobile technologies have been applied for detection and identification of cultured parasite species, which is basically based on sample imaging and parasite morphology identification. Promising advances have been made with this technology and coupled with its small size, low cost and easy to manipulate, makes it suitable for point of care diagnostics in low resource setting. The aim of the proposed explorative study is to further validate sensitivity and specificity of each of the developed devices, using besides microscopy a range of more advanced reference tests.

Community Versus Facility-based Services to Improve the Screening of Active HCV Infection in Cambodia

Cam-C
Start date: August 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Principal objective is to compare the effectiveness of a community-based intervention to a facility-based intervention to improve the combined-testing uptake (Antibody + RNA) of HCV infection among general population aged more than 40 years old in Cambodia Secondary objectives : - To compare the HCV antibody testing uptake between the 2 arms for the eligible population - To compare the active case detection rate between the 2 arms for the eligible population - To compare the linkage to care between the 2 arms for those with active infection - To compare the cost-effectiveness of the two strategies
