NCT ID: NCT05040399 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Surgical Site Infection

Sternal Wound Infection in Patients Undergone Sternal Fixation Using Locking Compression Plates

Start date: April 20, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Sternal Wound Infection (SWI) in open heart surgery is one of the most annoying and avoidable complications that one encounters during work. Investigators investigate the rates of sternal wound infection (SWI) in patients in whom were used locking compression plates (LCP) versus in patients in whom were used wires to fixate the sternum for variable causes. SWI increases the overall cost and burden in the medical service and increases the patients suffering and disability. investigators aim to provide our patients with the most suitable means for sternal fixation.

NCT ID: NCT04092374 Recruiting - Sternal Fracture Clinical Trials

Assiut University Heart Hospital

aun
Start date: January 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

It is interesting to examine this technique for sternal fracture fixation for more close-up assessment of post-operative pain using pain score, hospital stay and short-term complications. Investigators think that this approach will give the patient better post-operative results with less complications and excellent immediate relief with good quality of life, less post-operative pain and rapid return to normal life.

NCT ID: NCT02749968 Completed - Rib Fracture Clinical Trials

Intercostal Liposomal Bupivacaine for the Management of Blunt Chest Wall Trauma

Start date: March 9, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a study of liposomal bupivacaine for pain control in patients with blunt chest wall trauma.

NCT ID: NCT02686099 Completed - Sternal Fracture Clinical Trials

Sternal Closure With SternaLock 360: First in Man Study

SL360
Start date: July 4, 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The SternaLock 360 Sternal Closure Device combines the techniques of rigid fixation with a cerclage material into a single sternal closure system. The cerclage material serves to facilitate sternal approximation, and the plates and screws serve to provide rigid fixation and prevent sternal movement and separation. The combination of a cerclage material in combination with plate and screw fixation may also lead to increased stability compared to either method used as a standalone means of closure.

NCT ID: NCT01327287 Terminated - Rib Fracture Clinical Trials

Early Aggressive Pain Management is Associated With Improved Outcomes in Blunt Thoracic Trauma

Thoracic
Start date: February 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This study is designed to analyze the use of early aggressive pain management with thoracic epidural in eligible patients with blunt thoracic trauma.
