Pharmacokinetics of IA and IV Ga68-PSMA-11 Infusion

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) agents have shown promise in detecting and treating prostate cancer. Gallium-68-labeled PSMA-11 (68Ga-PSMA-11) is a radioactive agent that binds to prostate cancer cells and can be imaged using positron emission tomography (PET) scanners that detect radioactivity in the body. This early phase I study will use PET to determine if delivering 68Ga-PSMA-11 directly into the prostatic artery (intra-arterial (IA) administration) results in greater uptake in the prostate than delivering 68Ga-PSMA-11 into a vein in the arm (intravenous (IV) administration).

Pharmacogenomics Testing in Directing the Optimal Use of Supportive Care Medications in Patients With Stage III-IV Cancer

This early phase I trial studies how well a genetic test called pharmacogenomics works in directing the optimal use of supportive care medications in patients with stage III-IV cancer. Pharmacogenomics is the study of how genes may affect the body's response to and interaction with some prescription medications. Genes, which are inherited from parents, carry information that determines things such as eye color and blood type. Genes can also influence how patients process and respond to medications. Depending on the genetic makeup, some medications may work faster or slower or produce more or fewer side effects. Pharmacogenomics testing may help doctors learn more about how patients break down and process specific medications based on their genes and improve the quality of life of cancer patients receiving clinical care.

Enzalutamide With Venetoclax in Treating Patients With Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer

This phase Ib/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of venetoclax when given together with enzalutamide and to see how well they work in treating patients with castration resistant prostate cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Androgens can cause the growth of prostate cancer cells. Drugs, such as enzalutamide, may lessen the amount of androgens made by the body. Venetoclax may target a special group of prostate cancer cells that is known to lead to resistance to treatment. Giving enzalutamide and venetoclax may work better in treating patients with castration resistant prostate cancer.

Pembrolizumab With Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Participants With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Small Cell/Neuroendocrine Cancers of Urothelium or Prostate

This phase Ib trial studies how well pembrolizumab works with combination chemotherapy in treating participants with small cell/neuroendocrine cancers of the urothelium or prostate that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes or that has spread to other places in the body. Monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as etoposide, docetaxel, cisplatin, and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving pembrolizumab with platinum-based chemotherapy may work better in treating participants with small cell/neuroendocrine cancers of the urothelium or prostate.

Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab and tremelimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
