NCT ID: NCT06435494 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

Cross-sectorial Use of Patient-Reported Outcomes in Chronic Degenerative Shoulder Conditions

C-PRO
Start date: June 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This research project aims to test if systematic (extensive) use of patient-reported outcomes across treatment boundaries can 1. improve patients' and health professionals' understanding of individual patients' conditions and health changes, 2. improve indications for treatment, 3. strengthen patient empowerment, and 4. reduce patients' utilization of health services. The study will be performed in the particular context of patients with chronic degenerative conditions of the shoulder. These patients are characterized by contact with numerous health professionals from different health sectors, such as general practitioner, physiotherapists and surgical referral centres, which challenges coherence and communication for the individual treatment decisions. The research project will be performed as a randomized controlled trial (RCT) with a 1-year inclusion period and two years of follow-up.

NCT ID: NCT05956171 Not yet recruiting - Shoulder Pain Clinical Trials

The Effects of Two Different Treatment Protocols on Shoulder Function, Quality of Life, and Ultrasound Parameters in Patients With Frozen Shoulder

Start date: October 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this interventional study is to compare the outcomes of two different injection aprroaches in patients with frozen shoulder. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is hydrodilatation better than intraarticular corticosteroid injection? - Is there any prognostic factors that will help clinicians guide their decision making when choosing between these two treatments? Participans will receive an injection(cortcosteroid and local anesthetics alone or with hydrodilatation-corticosteroid and local anesthetics plus sterile saline solution) and then they will follow a rehabilitation program.

NCT ID: NCT05194852 Completed - Shoulder Capsulitis Clinical Trials

Ultrasound-guided Anterior Hydrodilatation in Shoulder Adhesive Capsulitis

Start date: January 2, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A prospective randomized controlled study among 60 consecutive adhesive capsulitis to compare between the ultrasound-guided anterior hydrodilatation in rotator interval and the posterior approach.

NCT ID: NCT05064033 Recruiting - Shoulder Injuries Clinical Trials

Pragmatic Posterior Capsular Stretch Versus Sleeper Stretch in Subject With Shoulder Pathologies

Start date: May 24, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The glenohumeral joint is an articulation between the glenoid of the scapula and the head of the humerus that is enclosed by a synovial capsule divided into three main components: anterior, posterior, and the axillary pouch. Symptoms of posterior capsule tightness are linked to altered shoulder biomechanics and impairments which includes glenohumeral internal rotation deficit, incomplete glenohumeral adduction, impaired inferior glenohumeral ligament (IGHL) function, and increased risk of impingement symptoms. In the literature the two techniques available for stretching posterior capsule are pragmatic posterior capsular stretch and sleeper stretch. Pragmatic posterior capsular stretch is therapist administered and sleeper stretch is patient-administered. The work on the pragmatic posterior capsular stretch is more specified and rational to mark the tightness in the posterior capsule.

NCT ID: NCT04859387 Completed - Shoulder Pain Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of Pragmatic Shoulder Technique VS Traditional Physical Therapy

PSTVSTPT
Start date: April 15, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Isolated and combined effectiveness of pragmatic protocols on shoulder range of motion had been investigated and found effective in healthy participants. To our knowledge, there was insufficient literature to support the comparison between pragmatic and traditional protocols in the treatment of shoulder pathologies.

NCT ID: NCT04847180 Recruiting - Shoulder Capsulitis Clinical Trials

Study of the Antipodal Capsular Fold and Its Potential Role in Antero-inferior Glenohumeral Instability

INSTABIO
Start date: August 26, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In schoulders instabilty, the soft tissue has not been the subject of histological studies, as has the "bare area" or zone devoid of cartilage, the exact role of which in glenohumeral biomechanics is unknown. This research is based on the hypothesis that the antipodal lesions are constant, underestimated and that an architectural disorganization at the capsulo-ligament level could contribute to the instability of the shoulder. The aim of this study is therefore to better characterize these lesions which could be the subject of a complementary stabilization procedure even in the absence of a humeral notch

NCT ID: NCT04668079 Completed - Shoulder Capsulitis Clinical Trials

Modified Cross Body Stretch Verses Modified Sleeper Stretch in Basketball Players for Posterior Capsule Tightness

Start date: April 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this research is to compare the effect of modified cross body stretch and modified sleeper stretch on pain, range of motion, disability and throwing ability in athletes with posterior capsule tightness. Randomized controlled trials done at International Islamic University. The sample size was 32. The subjects were divided in two groups, 16 subjects in modified cross body stretch group and 16 in modified sleeper stretch group. Study duration was of 6 months. Sampling technique applied was non probability connivance sampling technique. Tools used in the study are PENN shoulder score, gonoiometer, thumb up back(TUB) and seated basketball throw test(SBBT). Data was be analyzed through SPSS 21.

NCT ID: NCT04640220 Completed - Breast Neoplasm Clinical Trials

Improvement of Range of Motion in Frozen Shoulder in Breast Cancer Survivors

Start date: October 26, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The prevalence of shoulder joint disease is high in breast cancer patients. The cause of adhesive capsulitis is not clearly identified. However, the following are known as relevant factors that are the restriction of the use of the arm after surgery, inflammation due to autoimmune action, radiation therapy, and adhesion of the surgical site. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the effect of intrathecal steroid injection in breast cancer survivors with adhesive capsulitis.

NCT ID: NCT01570985 Active, not recruiting - Frozen Shoulder Clinical Trials

Treatment Study of Frozen Shoulder: Corticosteroid Injection in Joint Versus Wait and See Policy

FSS
Start date: February 2010
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a study on the treatment of frozen shoulder with injection of cortisone into the shoulder joint. The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether injection with stretching of the shoulder capsule or plain injection is more effective than no specific treatment.
