DBT-SS for Cognitively Challenged Individuals With Deliberate Self-harm

The study evaluates the effect of Dialectic Behavior Therapy Skills System (DBT-SS) in individuals with Intelligence Quotient 65-85 and recurrent self-harm. The study is primarily descriptive with 6 cases followed by repeated measurements (weekly; time series analysis). Primary outcome measure is frequency and severity of self-harming behavior, reported weekly 4 weeks before the start of the intervention, throughout the intervention and 12 weeks after the intervention has stopped.

Reducing Suicide Risk Associated With Weight Loss

The purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy of an intervention aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and reducing risk factors associated with eating pathology, nonsuicidal self-injury, and suicidal behavior. We are also interested in assessing whether this intervention has the potential to prevent future symptoms of eating problems and self-harm urges and behaviors. The broader goal of this research is to identify factors that may help us better understand the prevention of self-harm behaviors and develop more effective treatments for these problems.
