Observational STudy to Evaluate the EFfectiveness of OnLifeĀ® in Improving CIPN in Patients With Colon or Breast Cancer After End of Adj. Therapy - STEFANO

An Observational STudy to Evaluate the EFfectiveness of OnLifeĀ® in Improving Chemotherapy-induced peripherAl NeurOpathy in Patients With Colon or Breast Cancer After End of Adjuvant Therapy

The objective of this observational study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the dietary supplementation "OnLife" in improving signs and symptoms of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) in adult patients who have finished adjuvant oxaliplatin-containing regimen (colon cancer) or adjuvant paclitaxel regimen (breast cancer). Furthermore, patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and concomitant medication used for the treatment of neuropathic pain will be assessed.

This Research Hypothesizes That the Use of a Rigid Rocker Sole Reduces the Recurrence Rate of Diabetic Foot Ulcers in Patients With Peripheral Neuropathy.

Clinical Efficacy of Therapeutic Footwear With a Rigid Rocker Sole in the Prevention of Reulceration in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus and Diabetic Polineuropathy: a Prospective and Randomized Clinical Trial.

This research presents a randomized clinical trial which analyzes the efficacy of a rigid rocker sole in the reduction of the recurrence rate of plantar ulcers in diabetic foot patients. The hypothesis of the research is the use of a rigid rocker sole reduces the recurrence rate of diabetic foot ulcers in patients with peripheral neuropathy.

OPEN Study: Pain Management Treatment Needs Interviews

Online Psychological Treatment for People With Painful HIV-related Peripheral Neuropathy (OPEN Study): Qualitative Investigation of Treatment Needs

Presently, there are few options for medically managing HIV-related painful peripheral sensory neuropathy (HIV-SN). Psychological treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), represent a potentially viable addition to the treatment of painful HIV-SN. However, there is a scarcity of research on psychological treatment approaches for pain management in people with HIV. This study will use in-depth semi-structured interviews to examine the needs of people with painful HIV-SN for a psychologically-based pain management treatment that may be delivered over the Internet. Interview questions will examine participants' needs in terms of treatment content and delivery format. Men and women, ethnic minorities, and people who use recreational drugs will be sampled to ensure that interview responses reflect the views of people most commonly suffering from this condition. Approximately 30 people will be recruited for the study. The interviews will be audio recorded, transcribed verbatim, and coded to identify themes. The interview responses will be used to develop and tailor a version of CBT for people with painful HIV-SN. It is hoped that tailoring the treatment based on the qualitative interview responses will increase the acceptability of the treatment and will improve treatment adherence rates for a future study.

Topical Cryotherapy in Reducing Pain in Patients With Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy or Paclitaxel Induced Acute Pain Syndrome

Pilot Clinical Trial Evaluating the Utility of Topical Cryotherapy to Decrease Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) and Paclitaxel-Induced Acute Pain Syndrome (P-APS): A Randomized Controlled Trial

This randomized pilot clinical trial studies topical cryotherapy (cooling hands and feet with ice bags) in reducing pain in patients with chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy or paclitaxel induced acute pain syndrome. Peripheral neuropathy is a nerve problem that causes pain, numbness, tingling, swelling, or muscle weakness in different parts of the body. Paclitaxel produces a disabling syndrome of acute aches and pains. Topical cryotherapy is being studied to see if it can help relieve pain from peripheral neuropathy or acute pain syndrome caused by chemotherapy.

Whole Exome Sequencing in Finding Causative Variants in Germline DNA Samples From Patients With Peripheral Neuropathy Receiving Paclitaxel for Breast Cancer

Exploratory Next Generation Sequencing to Identify Causative Variants for Taxane-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy From Breast Cancer Study E5103 Germline DNA Samples

This research trial studies whole exome sequencing in finding causative variants in germline deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples from patients with peripheral neuropathy receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. Studying samples of germline DNA in the laboratory from patients with peripheral neuropathy receiving paclitaxel for breast cancer may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to peripheral neuropathy.
