Studying the effects of autogenic and reciprocal inhibition muscle energy techniques on swimmers with scapular dyskinesis can lead to effective interventions and reduce shoulder injuries
The study is randomized and single -blinded. Ethical approval is taken from ethical committee of Riphah International university Lahore. participant selected through non probability convenience sampling technique on 26 fast bowlers which further players were randomly divided into two groups, group A (Experimental group) and group B (Control group), having 13 players in each group. Scapular stabilization exercises along with pectoralis minor stretching were administered in group A whereas generalized shoulder exercises along with self-stretching of shoulder muscles were performed in group B.

In patients after open-heart surgery, the complaint of scapular dyskinesia is very common. It occurs due to the weakness of the muscles surrounding the scapula. In this research, investigators checked the effectiveness of scapular clock exercises in scapular dyskinesia, in post-op open heart surgery patients. There were two groups, an intervention "Active group" and a 'control group'. The patients will be randomly assigned to each group equally. The treatment session was given for a period of 4 weeks, with 3 sessions each week. They were assessed before treatment, after 2 weeks and post-intervention.
As the head and neck cancer (HNC) survival rate has increased and therefore, the focus of post-treatments is to improve the quality of patients' life by decreasing the side effects. Treatment of HNC leads to acute and chronic soft tissue damage, and functional loss. However, patients with HNC need having rehabilitation throughout the post-treatment phase so as to improve functional outcomes because of the long term side effects. Chronic shoulder morbidity is one of the complications after surgery due to spinal accesory nerve injury. Moreover, pain, dysphonia, and musculoskeletal impairments are observed in the individuals after the treatments and the patients also have trouble swallowing problems, loss of taste, dry mouth, trismus, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue during and after therapy. Since there is limited research on the usage of manual therapy techniques in HNC patients, this study aims to investigate muscle changes after surgery and the effectiveness of physiotherapy on muscle material behaviour from a biomechanical perspective by using shear wave elastography. In this respect, the hypothesis is: H0: Physical therapy interventions do not impact mechanical properties of muscle, pain, quality of life, cervical and shoulder functionality in HNC patients after neck dissection. H1: Physical therapy interventions will improve mechanical properties of muscle, pain, quality of life, cervical and shoulder functionality in HNC patients after neck dissection.
The aim of this study is to assess the influence of anterior abutment surgery using the Latarjet method on the kinematics of the scapula. The sub-objectives will be to show that Latarjet-type surgery does not lead to scapular dyskinesia and modification of muscle activity compared to a control group that has not undergone an operation.
Altered scapular movement is a common impairment among patients with subacromial impingement syndrome (SAIS). Nevertheless scapular focused interventions have resulted in conflicting findings among this population. One possible reason for this is the inability to identify patients with SAIS who will respond favorably to a scapular focused intervention. The scapular assistance test (SAT) may be one possible indicator of patients most likely to benefit from a scapular focused intervention, particularly one that emphasizes scapular upward rotation. The purpose of this study is to examine targeted upward rotation intervention in patients demonstrating a positive Scapular Assistance test.
Previous studies have proposed various ways to assess scapular dyskinesis, but they were impractical in clinical setting or the validity was questioned. The novel scapulometer we developed can measure the prominence of scapular medial border and inferior angle. We would like to examine its reliability and validity in subjects with symptomatic scapular dyskinesis. The long-term, high-intensity, unilateral loading may cause overhead athletes to develop adaptive changes in shoulder kinematics, range of motion (ROM) and strength in the dominant arm. We hypothesized that these changes may be related to scapular dyskinesis. According to the previous studies, we expect electromyography (EMG) biofeedback training can help improve the ratio of muscle activation of scapular muscle.
