Filter by:This pilot early phase I trial studies how well fluorothymidine F-18 positron emission tomography (PET) works in imaging patients with intermediate or high grade soft tissue sarcoma. Fluorothymidine F-18 PET may provide useful information about the tumor's response to treatment and may give the doctors early results that would better help to plan the post-surgical therapy.
This research trial studies the immune changes following trabectedin in patients with sarcoma that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Analyzing tumor tissue may help to understand the changes in immune cells in or around the tumor or if there is an increase in immune cells in the tumor after receiving trabectedin.
Advanced soft tissue sarcoma patients who have previously recieved anthracyclines might still benefit from doxorubicin, ifosfamide and dacarbazine. However doxorubicin might be stopped using because of chronic cumulative heart toxicity. Several efforts have been made to improve the toxicity profile of conventional anthracyclines, including the use of liposomal encapsulation technology and the development of novel anthracycline analogs,such as pegylated liposomal doxorubicin and pirarubicin. However their actual effectiveness and toxicity have not been studied in prospective trial. The purpose of the study is to investigate whether they are available for this group of patients.
This trial will assess whether nivolumab alone or nivolumab combined with pazopanib will be associated with an improvement in progression free survival (PFS) at 6 months
The goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose of heated doxorubicin that can be given to patients during surgery with abdominal tumors. The safety of this drug will also be studied.
Patients with advanced soft tissue sarcoma(rhabdomyosarcoma and liposarcoma excluded), who experience progression after standard chemotherapy, have limited treatment options which promise a survival benefit.This trial tends to explore apatinib, which is a domestic highly selective inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2, as a treatment option for heavily pretreated soft tissue sarcoma patients.
This study will help to elucidate the treatment sites in the extremities and pelvis for which MR-guided HIFU heating is feasible, which has the potential to be beneficial for patients with conditions at those sites (soft tissue sarcoma, cervical cancer, etc.). The investigators anticipate that successful completion of this study will lead to clinical trials in those feasible sites of interest to determine the safety and efficacy of administering therapeutic levels of heat for hyperthermia or other applications.
Background: Most patients who have surgery for cancer that has metastasized (spread) to the lungs later get more metastases that cannot be treated with surgery or chemotherapy. The drug resistance may be due to DNA changes in cancer cells that activate some genes and turn others off. Researchers want to test a combination of drugs for people with metasteses. Decitabine (DAC) may reverse the DNA changes. Tetrahydrouridine (THU) makes DAC last longer. Celecoxib may slow the progression of cancer. Objectives: To determine a safe dose of DAC and THU by mouth. To see if DAC-THU with or without celecoxib reactivates genes in lung metastases. Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older, with cancer in both lungs that can be treated with surgery. Design: Participants will be screened with: Blood, lung, and heart tests Scans Tests for viruses Pregnancy test Participants will have blood and stool tests. They will have surgery to remove metasteses in 1 lung. About 3 weeks later, they will have lung scans. If the disease is not back, participants will get DAC and THU with or without celecoxib, by mouth for 6 weeks. Participants will have more scans. If the disease is not worse, they will continue the study drugs for 4 more weeks. Participants will have more scans and heart and lung tests. They will have surgery to remove metasteses from the other lung. Participants will have weekly blood and urine tests, plus several blood draws the first 2 days of taking the drugs. Participants will have exams and blood tests before each surgery. Participants will have follow-up visits 1 and 3 months after the second surgery.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether Doxil (liposomal doxorubicin) given prior to MR-HIFU Hyperthermia is safe for the treatment of pediatric and young adult patients with recurrent and refractory solid tumors.
