Filter by:Macular hole surgery were tried by different surgeons using many techniques with different successes but still there were many recurrences. In this study the investigators try to close these distinct types including recurrent holes using pre-prepared amniotic membrane.
To present the clinical characteristics and rational treatment of macular hole (MH) after the diabetic vitrectomy (DV) in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).
ILM-flap (internal limiting Membrane-flap) transposition is a new surgical option in repair of macular holes, therefore one year outcomes are needed to better evaluate that method.
Epiretinal membranes (ERM) are disorders leading to vision loss and metamorphopsia. Vitrectomy with membrane peeling has developed to be the gold-standard in treatment of ERM. ERM can be well visualized with spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). The aim of the study is to examine ERM and internal limiting membranes (ILM) exzised during routine macular surgery with fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and compare results to optic coherence tomography (OCT) findings.
Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and MSC-derived exosomes (MSC-Exos) for promoting healing of large and refractory macular holes (MHs). Hypothesis: MSC and MSC-Exo therapy may promote functional and anatomic recovery from MH. MSC-Exo therapy may be a useful and safe method for improving visual outcomes of surgery for refractory MHs.
Full-thickness macular Hole associated with macular detachment is a one of the maculopathies of high myopia. There is controversy in the primary treatment for this situation. This study will compare the effects of macular buckling versus vitrectomy in a cohort of highly myopic eyes with this situation.
This study evaluates the surgical outcomes of inverted internal limiting membrane insertion combined with air tamponade in the treatment of macular hole retinal detachment (MHRD) in high myopia, and also to compare the treatment efficacy and safety between different surgical approaches of MHRD
We evaluated preoperative and postoperative optical coherence tomograpghic images in eyes with full thickness macular hole (FTMH) whether the epiretinal proliferation (EP) was detected and detection of EP was correlated to the visual improvement.
Prospective study evaluating the role of inflammasomes in cell death in retinal detachment, full thickness macular hole, and epiretinal membrane. The investigators are collecting vitreous and subretinal fluid samples from patients with these conditions and evaluating activity of the inflammasome pathway with established assays.
Some alterations of the foveal contour do not meet the criteria established for the definition of lamellar macular hole on the basis of optical coherence tomography (OCT). However, these alterations may show an appearance, on blue fundus autofluorescence (B-FAF) imaging, reminiscent of lamellar macular hole. The aim of the study is to evaluate in detail these alterations recording simultaneously OCT and B-FAF.
