To evaluate the accuracy of virtual visual field (VVF) headsets equipped the standard visual field software in its ability to assess visual function in various retinal, glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmic disorders by comparing retinal fundus and optic nerve images, optical coherence tomography and neuroimages to the VVF produced. 2. To test the null hypothesis that VVF testing compares favorably to the gold standard, Humphrey visual field (HVF) by comparing testing time, mean sensitivity, markers of reliability including false positives and negatives and fixation losses and global indices such as mean deviation and pattern standard deviation.

Finasteride for Chronic Central Serous Chorioretinopathy

Background: - Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) is a disease that causes fluid to collect under the retina. It affects the macula, which is in the center of the retina and is needed for sharp, clear vision. In many cases, CSC resolves on its own and does not need treatment. However, in some cases it does not go away or comes back after treatment. This is known as chronic CSC. - Chronic CSC may be caused by hormones called androgens. Finasteride is a drug that can alter the effects certain of androgens. Researchers want to compare finasteride with a placebo to see if it is a safe and effective treatment for chronic CSC. Objectives: - To see if finasteride is a safe and effective treatment for chronic CSC. Eligibility: - Individuals at least 18 years of age who have chronic CSC in one or both eyes. Design: - Participants will be screened with a physical exam and medical history. A full eye exam will be performed. Blood and urine samples will also be collected. - Some participants may have photodynamic therapy (PDT), the standard treatment for CSC. PDT helps to reduce the amount of fluid in the eye. Participants will need to wait for 3 months after PDT before starting the finasteride study. - Participants will be separated into two groups. One group will take finasteride 5 mg (formulated into capsules); the other group will take a placebo capsule. All participants will take the capsules for 3 months. - After 3 months on the assigned capsule (finasteride or placebo), all participants will have the opportunity to take finasteride for at least another 4 years and 9 months. This phase of the study is optional. - Participants will have regular study visits. At each visit, they will have physical exams and eye exams. They will also provide blood and urine samples. - During the first 3 months, participants will have 2 study visits. After 3 months, if the participant continues in the optional (or as needed) phase of the protocol, visits will occur at Month 6, Month 12 and every 12 months thereafter. However, additional visits may be needed.

GW824575 First Time in Human

This study is the first administration of GW824575 in humans. This will be a single centre, masked, placebo-controlled study, to investigate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of GW824575, given as single and repeated oral doses to healthy male subjects. The study will be comprised of 4 parts and enroll approximately 40 subjects: Part A will consist of two cohorts of 8 healthy male subjects to assess the safety, tolerability, PK, and PD of ascending single oral doses of GW824575. All available safety, tolerability, and PK data will be monitored prior to each dose escalation. In order to support the possible indication for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), Part B will be one cohort of 12 subjects to examine the safety, tolerability, PK, and PD of a repeated dose of GW824575 over 21 days in healthy male subjects who are greater than or equal to 50 years of age. The total daily dose in this cohort will not exceed the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) from Parts A and D. Subjects in this cohort will undergo ophthalmology assessments before receiving investigational product and after Day 7 of the 21-day in-patient treatment, after steady state has been reached. As part of protocol amendment 2, Part C (Cohort 4) is removed from the protocol. Part D, added under protocol amendment 2, will consist of one cohort of 12 healthy male subjects to assess safety, tolerability, PK, and PD of ascending single doses of GW824575 as well as the effect of food on the PK of GW824575.
