Filter by:The goal of this observational study is to compare endometrial stripe thickness in adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients with a uterus on estrogen replacement therapy using oral progesterone versus the etonogstrel implant for endometrial protection. The main questions it aims to answer are: Aim 1: Characterize the mean endometrial thickness in AYA on estrogen hormone replacement therapy before initiation of progesterone therapy Aim 2: Characterize the mean changes and variability in endometrial thickness in AYA treated for 6 months with either the etonogestrel implant or continuous oral progesterone Aim 3: Assess satisfaction, side effects, bleeding patterns, any progesterone modifications, and adherence in AYA treated for 6 months with either etonogestrel implant or continuous progesterone Participants will be asked to: - Get two pelvic ultrasounds - Fill out two surveys - Continue their current hormone replacement therapy - Initiate one of two progesterone therapies (prometrium 100mg daily or Nexplanon) Researchers will compare the change in endometrial thickness after 6 months of progesterone use to see if there is a significant difference in the mean change between the prometrium and Nexplanon groups.
Explore the bone metabolism characteristics of premature ovarian insufficiency.
The goal of this clinical trial is to test the efficacy of a nurse-led psychoeducational sexual health intervention for young women breast cancer survivors. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. What is the feasibility of this intervention in an online, private setting? 2. What is the effect of this intervention on reducing menopausal symptoms, improving sexual functioning, and enhancing body image? Participants will participate in a nurse-led psychoeducational intervention for 8 sessions lasting approximately an hour each over the course of 8 - 10 weeks. Each participant will complete survey items at the beginning, end, and six-weeks after the last session. Participants will be compensated up to $150 in gift cards as a thank-you for their time.
The primary ovarian insufficiency (premature ovarian failure, premature ovarian insufficiency, premature menopause) is a hypergonadotropic hypogonadism, that failure of the ovarian function in woman younger than 40 years. Fat derived stem cells are mainly mesenchymal stem cells and found to be effective treatment in joint and bone regeneration. We are planning to investigate the effectiveness of adipose stem cell on ovarian tissue regeneration for patients with premature ovarian failure.
Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) refers to the occurrence of ovarian hypofunction in women before the age of 40, which seriously affects women's overall health and quality of life. However, there is currently insufficient understanding of the risk factors, pathogenesis, short-term and long-term health effects of POI, and the health effects of the disease, and there is a lack of high-quality evidence to support clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions. This study intends to construct a hospital-based multi-center POI case-control and prospective special disease cohort, after baseline assessment and follow-up monitoring, collect disease characteristics, lifestyle, social psychology, environmental and occupational exposure, biological samples and other data, aiming to observe POI The natural occurrence, progression and health impact of POI, clarify the risk factors of POI, evaluate the impact of POI on women's health and disease risk, and discuss the benefits, risks and options of HRT for POI patients. The results of this study will deepen and expand the understanding of the occurrence and development of POI and its short-term and long-term health effects, provide high-level evidence for optimizing POI prevention, diagnosis and treatment strategies, and establish a long-term management system, laying the foundation for interventional research.
HSCT is an effective method to cure hematologic malignancies. However, the reproductive system is prone to be damaged during radiotherapy and chemotherapy before transplantation, leading to ovarian failure, followed by infertility and premature ovarian failure (POF), which seriously affect the long-term quality of life of patients. This clinical trial aimed to observe the effect of Gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues (GnRHa) on ovarian function in women of reproductive age after HSCT, so as to provide clinical evidence for whether GnRHa should be used for the prevention of POF.
Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) seriously affects the physical and mental health of women. Nowadays, Chinese herbs have huge appeal and potential in treating POI. We have created a new Chinese herbal combination TJAOA101, whereas its safety and efficacy still need to be validated. Hence, we will perform a population-based, multicenter study to confirm the safety and efficacy of TJAOA101 in therapy of POI. We aim to provide a solid evidence for TCM in therapy of POI.
The investigators propose a pilot study to determine if autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) improves ovarian reserves and In-vitro fertilisation (IVF) outcomes in women with diminished ovarian reserve / premature ovarian insufficiency.
60 cases with premature ovarian insufficiency will be randomized to either receive PRP or saline injection in their ovaries. Then follow up by hormonal & ultrasound & clinically to monitor any changes
Premature ovarian failure (POF) is a rare condition, affecting 1 in 10,000 women before age 20 and 1 in 1,000 women before age 30. The two main causes of POF are congenital and acquired. Patients with POF who carry out the desire to have a child turn to medically assisted reproduction through oocyte donation or to adoption. The main endpoint of this study is to compare the desire to have children among women with premature ovarian failure (POF) aged 18 to 26 years vs. controls of the same age (stratified by age) without major menstruation disorder.
