View clinical trials related to Preterm Infants.
Filter by:Preterm infants experiencing bottle feeding difficulties will be included in this study. Two distinct interventions, oral stimulation (OS) and infant massage (IM), will be administered in this study. The objective of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of these two approaches, either individually or in combination, in improving the feeding performance and development of participants.
The goal of this observational study is to determine the normal development of the human intestinal immune system in premature and mature neonatal life and to determine the pathophysiology behind life-threatening gastrointestinal diseases that appear during early life. The main questions aim to answer are: - to determine the normal development of the human intestinal immune system in premature and mature neonatal life and to determine the pathophysiology behind life-threatening gastrointestinal diseases that appear during early life. - is to investigate the development of the immune system in relation to enteral nutrition during the neonatal period. Participants will be asked to give faecal samples from day 1 of life and weekly for the following weeks until discharge (preterm infants). Further, surgery faecal samples and intestinal tissue will be collected proximal and distal to the pathology. In cases with a stoma, and when the child will undergo later reversal surgery, tissue samples from the proximal and distal ends of the intestine will be collected together with fecal samples (preterm and children up to 1 year of age who need to undergo intestinal surgery due to atresia).
To evaluate the efficacy of less invasive surfactant administration(LISA )technique in the treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS) by comparing with the traditional Intubate-Surfactant-Extubate(INSURE) technique.
Enterocolitis necrotizing (ECUN) is a common and serious gastrointestinal disease in premature infants. The diagnosis of ECUN based on clinical and radiological criteria. The abdomen plain film to date is the reference examination to confirm or refute the diagnosis. Indeed, the presence of pathognomonic signs (pneumatosis, aéroportie) on the abdomen of cliché can confirm the diagnosis. The prognostic value of these radiographic findings is currently controversial. Abdominal ultrasound is a test whose possibilities in diagnostic and prognostic term began to be considered for some years. It also has other advantages, including that of not being a radiating examination. Studies on the prognostic value of abdominal ultrasound are rather few. Moreover, they involve a series of heterogeneous patients in terms of gestational age. Or the pathophysiology of ECUN in children born at term and in children born prematurely is not the same. The objective is to study prospectively the prognostic contribution of abdominal ultrasound in the ECUN in premature under 33SA.
Hd-EEG and MRI measures are used to study the maturation of functional networks in order to identify the neural circuits underlying executive and memory processes in children born preterm. It will be determined whether children born preterm with executive function deficits will have an abnormal connectivity between basal ganglia and cortex due to WM injury. Moreover, the development of hd-EEG activity during sleep (coherence and travelling waves) and brain maturation of children and adolescents born preterm will be compared with the respective measures in healthy controls. This is of eminent importance as it helps to understand the nature of executive function and hence, it may help to develop neuroprotective strategies to prevent executive function deficits in these infants.
To evaluate the contribution of internal and familial resources on the development of motherhood in a population of mothers having preterm twin infants and comparing this population to a population of mothers giving birth to single (or twins) full term infants.
