Artificial Intelligence (AI) to predict the histology of polyps per colonoscopy, offers a promising solution to reduce variation in colonoscopy performance. This new and innovative non-invasive technology will improve the quality of screening colonoscopies, and reduce the costs of colorectal cancer screening. The aim of the study is to performed a cross-sectional, multi-center study evaluating the diagnostic performance of the CAD EYE automatic characterization system for the histology of colonic polyps in colorectal cancer screening colonoscopy.
Careful inspection and evaluation of the post-polipectomy scars of polyps greater than 20 mm looking for residual polyp is mandatory. LCI has demonstrated to improve polyp and adenoma detection rate in previous studies. However, to our knowledge no previous studies have been made for validation of LCI for optical diagnosis of a scar looking for residual neoplasia after a previous polypectomy. We hypothesize that LCI will improve the optical diagnosis of polyp recurrence compared to WLE. So, our aim is to compare the efficacy of linked color imaging for optical diagnosis of post-polypectomy scar recurrence compared with high-definition white light endoscopy.
Optical diagnosis of colorectal polyps is a promising tool to avoid risks of unnecessary polypectomies and to save costs of tissue pathology. NICE (NBI International Colorectal Endoscopic) and WASP (Workgroup on Serrated Polyps and Polyposis) classification were developed for diagnosis of adenomatous and sessile serrated polyps, respectively.
This is a multi-center, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, PK, PD and immumogenicity of CM310 in comparison to placebo in addition to a background treatment of mometasone furcate nasal spray (MFNS) in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP).
We retrospectively review a single-center cohort of gallbladder polyps from January 2015 to May 2020. Univariate and multivariable analyses were performed to extract potential risky factors of neoplastic polyps. Also, a comparison was conducted between laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) and laparoscopic polypectomy (LP) to explore factors affecting surgeons' decision on LC or LP.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical benefit and safety of using a computer aided detection device, Skout, for real-time polyp detection in colonoscopy procedures with the indication of screening or surveillance. One of the reasons for the development of interval colorectal cancers is polyps missed during colonoscopy. Our hypothesis is that with the aid of Skout, the adenomas detected per colonoscopy will increase, and it is plausible to believe that this increase in detection could reduce the incidence of interval cancers.
Current guidelines recommend resection and histopathological analyses of all colorectal polyps. Real-time optical diagnosis can obviate non-neoplastic polyp resection ("diagnose-and-leave-behind") and histopathological analyses of diminutive polyps ("predict-resect-and-discard") reducing healthcare and cost burden. The investigators aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of computer-aided diagnosis using CAD EYE® (Fujifilm,Germany) in real-time optical characterization of colorectal polyps compared to endoscopic diagnosis with histopathology as the gold-standard. For this purpose, a single-centre prospective study of diminutive/small colorectal polyps is ongoing.
European guidelines recommend the use of cold snare polypectomy (CSP) for removal of diminutive colorectal polyps (DCP)(5 mm or less). However, for DCP < 4 mm cold biopsy forceps (CBF) may be optional. Moreover, CBF remains the endoscopist's technique of choice for polyp resection and CSP is associated with a failure of specimen retrieval for histology in up to 6.8% of cases. In this study, the investigators aimed to compare the efficacy of CSP with CBF for removal of DCP in routine colonoscopy
COLO-DETECT is a clinical trial to evaluate whether an Artificial Intelligence device ("GI Genius", manufactured by Medtronic) can identify more polyps (pre-cancerous growths of the bowel lining) during colonoscopy (large bowel camera test) than during colonoscopy without it.
