View clinical trials related to Osteonecrosis.
Filter by:Previous studies have shown an increase in the concentration of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC's) in the setting of osteoarthritis of the knee and its correlation to severity. Researchers have shown that as there is an increase in the severity of the disease, the concentration of stem cells also increases. The purpose of this study is to determine if there is the same increase in stem cell concentration in patients with osteonecrosis (ON) of the femoral head.
Approximately 500 patients will be included in this patient registry. Data collection includes demographics, clinical data of underlying disease and use of bisphosphonates, denosumab and antiangiogenic drugs , degree and extension of osteonecrosis, osteonecrosis-specific treatment, outcomes and complications within 1 year after treatment.
The goal of the project is to evaluate osteonecrosis before and after decompression surgery with ferumoxytol-enhanced MRI.
The trial detected mRNA expression of several bone repair-related genes, including Runx2, in the femoral head and neck of patients with osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) . Runx2 expression was compared with that of identical tissue from osteoarthritis patients to identify expression in necrotic femoral head tissue, which will help clarify the role and possible clinical significance of Runx2 in femoral head necrosis, bone repair and reconstruction.
In this study, the aim is to identify the modifications responsible for aseptic osteonecrosis of the femoral head and its structural evolution by the association of the micro scanner analysis and Raman spectrometry performed on the femoral heads removed during hip replacements. The study of femoral heads will allow the analysis of bone tissue at two different scales, both correlated with the biomechanical properties of the bone. Also, the association with preliminary MRI analysis will provide pathogenic explanations correlated to these modifications.
This study was mainly aimed to evaluate the efficacy of local administration of enriched bone marrow mononuclear cells, platelets and zoledronic acid for the clinical prevention of collapse of the early-stage osteonecrotic femoral head.
Study on quantitative perfusion parameters acquired on MR imaging of patients with non-tumoral pathology of the musculoskeletal system.
The investigators aim to develop a prospective database in which patient demographics, surgical, dental, prosthetic and QOL parameters collected during consecutive visits within the framework of routine practice, are being registered for each oncological patient eligible for (immediate/delayed) fixed prosthodontic rehabilitation at time of oral cavity reconstruction
Kienböck's disease is characterized by avascular necrosis of the lunate wrist bone, which is usually progressive without treatment. Cell therapy is useful in treatment of degenerated bone and mesenchymal stromal/stem cells are the best candidates for this kind of treatment. This study examined lunate core decompression in combination with implantation of autologous bone marrow derived mesenchymal stromal cells for Its treatment potential. Bone decompression in combination with implantation of autologous bone marrow derived mesenchymal stromal/stem cell will be done in 30 patients with Kienböck disease. The patients will be followed at 2weeks, 3months, 6m and 12 months after implantation. The Spss(v16) software will be used for data analysis.
This study explores the effect of zoledronic acid on incident vertebral fractures and osteonecrotic lesions in children recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
