NCT ID: NCT01777451 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Whole Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging With Diffusion Weighted Imaging : Potential Role in Neurofibromatosis

NEFIMAR
Start date: December 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Whole body MRI will be performed in patients with neurofibromatosis Type 1 PURPOSE 1: To determine the total tumor load (neurofibroma) and to diagnose plexiform neurofibromas or malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors. All patients will be scanned two years after the baseline whole body MRI to investigate to investigate the changes of total tumor load. PURPOSE 2: added value of diffusion weighted imaging in diagnosis of high-risk neurofibromas PURPOSE 3 : to determine the apparent diffusion coefficient of the malignant nerve sheath tumors and neurofibroma. PURPOSE 4 : correlation between histopathology of the surgically resected neurofibroma/malignant nerve sheath tumors and MRI findings

NCT ID: NCT01767792 Completed - Clinical trials for Neurofibromatosis Type 2

Phase 2 Study of Bevacizumab in Children and Young Adults With NF 2 and Progressive Vestibular Schwannomas

Start date: May 15, 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To determine the hearing response rate at 24 weeks after treatment with bevacizumab for symptomatic vestibular schwannomas (VS) in children and young adults with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF 2).

NCT ID: NCT01743248 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Vestibular Schwannoma

Vestibular Schwannoma and Psychological Factors

Start date: August 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The surgery of a vestibular schwannoma induces balance disorders which have a an impact on the patient's daily life and disrupt their quality of life. But the balance disorders don't seem to be the only ones factors that impaired the patient's quality of life. It has been alrealdy shown that emotional and psychological factors are also related to patient's quality of life. This study evaluates the relationship between the balance control compensation and these factors (i.e. emotional and psychological) in the vestibular schwannoma resection process.

NCT ID: NCT01653028 Completed - Clinical trials for Recurrent Adult Soft Tissue Sarcoma

Alisertib in Treating Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Sarcoma

Start date: August 22, 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well alisertib works in treating patients with sarcoma that has spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced) or has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Alisertib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

NCT ID: NCT01614795 Completed - Rhabdomyosarcoma Clinical Trials

Cixutumumab and Temsirolimus in Treating Younger Patients With Recurrent or Refractory Sarcoma

Start date: June 18, 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well cixutumumab and temsirolimus work in treating patients with recurrent or refractory sarcoma. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cixutumumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving cixutumumab and temsirolimus together may kill more tumor cells.

NCT ID: NCT01490476 Completed - Neurofibromatosis 2 Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety Study of RAD001 in the Growth of the Vestibular Schwannoma(s) in Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) Patients

AFINF2
Start date: January 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to determine if RAD001 treatment will shrink or slow the growth of the vestibular schwannoma(s) in Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) patients.

NCT ID: NCT01449604 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Vestibular Schwannoma

Stereotactic Radiation in Vestibular Schwannoma

Start date: October 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)and stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT)are effective in the treatment of vestibular schwannoma (VS).

NCT ID: NCT01418001 Terminated - Sarcoma Clinical Trials

Gemcitabine and Docetaxel in Combination With Pazopanib (Gem/Doce/Pzb) for the Neoadjuvant Treatment of Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS)

Start date: August 2011
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to see the effects, good and/or bad, of the drug combination of gemcitabine, docetaxel and pazopanib on sarcoma. This is a phase Ib-phase II clinical trial. The goal of a phase Ib part of the clinical trial is to confirm a dose of the drugs that is safe. The investigators determine this by closely checking for side effects that the patient may experience.

NCT ID: NCT01347307 Completed - Meningioma Clinical Trials

Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy for Spine Tumors

Start date: September 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the local control rate as well as acute and late toxicity rates of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for the treatment of spine metastases and benign spine tumors.

NCT ID: NCT01345136 Terminated - Clinical trials for Neurofibromatosis Type 2

Study of RAD001 for Treatment of NF2-related Vestibular Schwannoma

Start date: July 1, 2015
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to determine if RAD001 treatment will shrink or slow the growth of the vestibular schwannoma(s) in Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) patients. Secondary objectives include determining if RAD001 treatment will improve hearing ability in NF2 patients. RAD001 is an oral drug that is approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for other types of tumors, it is not approved by the FDA for treatment of NF2 related tumors.
