Filter by:Whole body MRI will be performed in patients with neurofibromatosis Type 1 PURPOSE 1: To determine the total tumor load (neurofibroma) and to diagnose plexiform neurofibromas or malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors. All patients will be scanned two years after the baseline whole body MRI to investigate to investigate the changes of total tumor load. PURPOSE 2: added value of diffusion weighted imaging in diagnosis of high-risk neurofibromas PURPOSE 3 : to determine the apparent diffusion coefficient of the malignant nerve sheath tumors and neurofibroma. PURPOSE 4 : correlation between histopathology of the surgically resected neurofibroma/malignant nerve sheath tumors and MRI findings
To determine the hearing response rate at 24 weeks after treatment with bevacizumab for symptomatic vestibular schwannomas (VS) in children and young adults with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF 2).
The surgery of a vestibular schwannoma induces balance disorders which have a an impact on the patient's daily life and disrupt their quality of life. But the balance disorders don't seem to be the only ones factors that impaired the patient's quality of life. It has been alrealdy shown that emotional and psychological factors are also related to patient's quality of life. This study evaluates the relationship between the balance control compensation and these factors (i.e. emotional and psychological) in the vestibular schwannoma resection process.
This phase II trial studies how well alisertib works in treating patients with sarcoma that has spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced) or has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Alisertib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
This phase II trial studies how well cixutumumab and temsirolimus work in treating patients with recurrent or refractory sarcoma. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cixutumumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving cixutumumab and temsirolimus together may kill more tumor cells.
The purpose of the study is to determine if RAD001 treatment will shrink or slow the growth of the vestibular schwannoma(s) in Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) patients.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)and stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT)are effective in the treatment of vestibular schwannoma (VS).
The purpose of this study is to see the effects, good and/or bad, of the drug combination of gemcitabine, docetaxel and pazopanib on sarcoma. This is a phase Ib-phase II clinical trial. The goal of a phase Ib part of the clinical trial is to confirm a dose of the drugs that is safe. The investigators determine this by closely checking for side effects that the patient may experience.
This study will evaluate the local control rate as well as acute and late toxicity rates of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for the treatment of spine metastases and benign spine tumors.
The purpose of the study is to determine if RAD001 treatment will shrink or slow the growth of the vestibular schwannoma(s) in Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) patients. Secondary objectives include determining if RAD001 treatment will improve hearing ability in NF2 patients. RAD001 is an oral drug that is approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for other types of tumors, it is not approved by the FDA for treatment of NF2 related tumors.
