Geriatric Optimization Plan to Improve Survival in Older Adult Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplant Candidates, OTIS Study

Start date: June 2, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This clinical trial tests whether a geriatric optimization plan (GO!) works to improve survival in patients over 60 with a hematologic malignancy or bone marrow failure syndrome eligible for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant. GO! focuses on creating a tailored and specific plan for each patient to make changes in their daily lives. These may include changes to their diet, sleep, activity, medicines, or even referrals to other providers depending on the patient's needs. Studying survival and quality of life in patients over 60 receiving an allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant may help identify the effects of treatment.

Outcomes in Patients With Myeloproliferative Neoplasm and Splanchnic Vein Thrombosis

Mascot
Start date: November 12, 2014
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Patients with Myeloproliferative neoplasms are at particular risk for developing arterial and venous thrombosis, especially thrombosis in the splanchnic venous system. The patho-physiology and natural history of MPN related SVT is poorly understood and treatment algorithms vary greatly. This is of considerable importance since the morbidity and mortality in this group of patients is high. This study aims to observe patients with MPN related SVT over a period of five years to document their clinical progress. Methods of observation include clinical assessment, standard investigations and laboratory based research investigations

NCT ID: NCT04191187 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Reduced Intensity Flu/Mel/TBI Conditioning for HAPLO HCT Patients With Hematologic Malignancies

Start date: December 6, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a single arm, phase II trial of HLA-haploidentical related hematopoietic cells transplant (Haplo-HCT) using reduced intensity conditioning (fludarabine and melphalan and total body irradiation). Peripheral blood is the donor graft source. This study is designed to estimate disease-free survival (DFS) at 18 months post-transplant.

NCT ID: NCT04060277 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Triplex Vaccine in Preventing CMV Infection in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

Start date: November 27, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well Triplex vaccine works in preventing cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in patients undergoing a hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. CMV is a virus that may be carried for life and does not cause illness in most healthy individuals. However, in people whose immune systems are lowered (such as those undergoing stem cell transplantation), CMV can reproduce and cause disease and even death. The Triplex vaccine is made up of 3 small pieces of CMV deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) (the chemical form of genes) placed into a weakened virus called modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA) that may help produce immunity (the ability to recognize and respond to an infection) and reduce the risk of developing complications related to CMV infection.

A Study Evaluating Safety and Tolerability, and Pharmacokinetics of Navitoclax Monotherapy and in Combination With Ruxolitinib in Participants With Myeloproliferative Neoplasm

Start date: November 8, 2019
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

There are 5 parts to this study for which the primary objectives are to evaluate safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of navitoclax when administered alone (Part 1) or when administered in combination with ruxolitinib (Part 2). In Part 2, participants must have been receiving a stable dose of ruxolitinib therapy for at least 12 weeks prior to study enrollment. In Part 3, all eligible participants will receive navitoclax, with the primary objective being to evaluate potential navitoclax effect on QTc prolongation. In Part 4, effect of navitoclax is evaluated on the PK, safety, and tolerability of a single dose of celecoxib. In Part 5, all eligible participants will receive ruxolitinib twice daily and navitoclax once daily for drug-drug interaction (DDI) assessment, followed by continued administration of navitoclax in combination with ruxolitinib.

NCT ID: NCT03862157 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Azacitidine, Venetoclax, and Pevonedistat in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Start date: February 27, 2019
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase I/II trial studies the best dose of venetoclax when given together with azacitidine and pevonedistat and to see how well it works in treating patients with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as azacitidine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Venetoclax may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking Bcl-2, a protein needed for cancer cell survival. Pevonedistat may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving azacitidine, venetoclax, and pevonedistat may work better in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT03588078 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia

Study of the Safety and Efficacy of APR-246 in Combination With Azacitidine

Start date: September 15, 2018
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to determine the safe and efficacy of APR-246 in combination with azacitidine as well as to see complete remission of this patients

NCT ID: NCT03386513 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Myeloproliferative Neoplasm

Study of IMGN632 in Patients With Untreated BPDCN and Relapsed/Refractory BPDCN

Start date: January 2, 2018
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is an open-label, multi-center, Phase 1/2 study to determine the MTD and assess the safety, tolerability, PK, immunogenicity, and anti-leukemia activity of IMGN632 when administered as monotherapy to patients with CD123+ disease.

NCT ID: NCT03333486 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Fludarabine Phosphate, Cyclophosphamide, Total Body Irradiation, and Donor Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With Blood Cancer

Start date: December 7, 2017
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well fludarabine phosphate, cyclophosphamide, total body irradiation, and donor stem cell transplant work in treating patients with blood cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as fludarabine phosphate and cyclophosphamide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Giving chemotherapy and total-body irradiation before a donor peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cells in the bone marrow, including normal blood-forming cells (stem cells) and cancer cells. It may also stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the healthy stem cells from a donor are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The donated stem cells may also replace the patient?s immune cells and help destroy any remaining cancer cells.

NCT ID: NCT03238248 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Myelodysplastic Syndromes
